Did We Just Find Out The Name of Beth and Rip’s ‘Yellowstone’ Spin-Off?

Well, well, well — looks like Beth and Rip aren’t done with us just yet. According to a new report from Lucas Shaw in Bloomberg, Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser’s Yellowstone spin-off may have a working title, and that is Dutton RanchPrevious reports had indicated that the title would include the prefix Yellowstone, so Yellowstone: Dutton Ranch might well be the direction that Paramount and Taylor Sheridan are heading in.

If it is, it makes perfect sense. The Yellowstone Season 5B finale ended with Beth and Rip finally settling into a quieter life, miles away from the chaos of the Dutton ranch — quite literally. In “Life Is a Promise,” Beth buys them a working ranch 40 miles west of Dillon, Montana. The final moments of the show find the two of them, alongside Carter, laying the groundwork for a more grounded future. It’s an ending, sure — but it’s also the perfect beginning.

“Down the road, if there’s something that happens, surely I would welcome it,” Hauser told Collider prior to the finale. Meanwhile, Reilly shared: “Until Taylor Sheridan comes to us both… and [if] he’s inspired to write something for us, then great. And if not, this is a beautiful ending.”

The ‘Yellowstone’ Empire Is Expanding

Well, guess what? Sheridan’s apparently inspired again. The follow-up project will mark the second major Yellowstone sequel in the works, following the start of production on The Madison, a separate spin-off starring Kurt Russell and Michelle Pfeiffer as a New York family attempting a fresh start in Montana. But unlike The Madison, which branches out with a whole new cast and concept, the Rip and Beth series is expected to continue the exact threads left dangling from the end of Yellowstone — and may even feature other familiar faces from the original series. We’re sure Lloyd will probably rock up at some point, too.

That brings us back to the title. Dutton Ranch has been floating around as a potential name, and it’s been reported that the word Yellowstone will definitely be in there somewhere. So is it Yellowstone: Dutton RanchBeth & Rip: Yellowstone Ranch? Something else entirely? Whatever it ends up being, it looks like Paramount is keen to keep that valuable branding front and center, especially now that they have full control of the streaming rights (sorry, Peacock).

Stay tuned to Collider for updates on Dutton Ranch (or whatever they end up calling it).
