Disappointing Update on ‘Bridgerton’ Season 4 Release Date

Netflix recently announced that Yerin Ha has joined the cast as the main love interest for Bridgerton Season 4, and filming has officially begun. However, this news comes with some disappointing details regarding the anticipated release date.

Production for Season 4 is taking place on a newly constructed backlot at Shepperton Studios, designed to enhance the show’s authentic Regency-era atmosphere. The new set features intricate replicas of Georgian and Regency architecture, which promises to immerse audiences even more deeply into the world of Bridgerton.

Unfortunately, this production timeline suggests a lengthy wait for fans. If we look at the timeline from Season 3, which began filming in July 2022 and wrapped in March 2023, it released in May and June 2024. If Season 4 follows a similar schedule, starting in September 2024, filming could wrap by May 2025.

Given the extensive post-production needs, including editing and dubbing for multiple languages, the release could potentially stretch into August 2026—over two years after Season 3 aired.

Showrunner Jess Brownell acknowledged the challenges, stating, “We are trying to put the seasons out more quickly, but they take eight months to film, and then there’s editing and translation work.” She noted that this two-year pace seems to be the new norm, with hopes for improvement but no guarantees.

If the production timeline remains unchanged, fans might not see the next season until September 2026, especially considering it may again be split into two parts. While there’s hope for a quicker turnaround, the current schedule looks grim for eager viewers.
