Jessica Betts turned heads at the Sundance Film Festival with her sensational musical acts and her recent triumph in acting alongside her spouse, Niecy Nash-Betts – who’s chummy with Kim Kardashian. Jessica, whose musical prowess encompasses a “rock and soul” vibe, also made waves on The Rookie: Feds playing DJ, a character romantically entangled with Neicy’s Simone Clark.
During an intimate chat with The Daily Express US, Jessica spilled the beans about their unique experience of portraying a romance on The Rookie: Feds and how Nathan Fillion has become a dear friend to the pair. “For what people would think would be work, it wasn’t work at all,” Jessica confided, regarding their on-screen chemistry at the Ericka Nicole Malone Entertainment Indie Directors and Creator’s lounge.
“The feelings were already innate. Translating that on screen was supernatural for us-it brought a real synergy and authenticity to the characters.”
Audiences were enchanted by the love story between DJ and Simone, as Jessica and Niecy’s genuine bond permeated through, lending believability to the tale. “The energy was real,” Jessica emphasized about how their true rapport augmented their acting.
Beyond her fictional narrative with Niecy, Jessica mused over their camaraderie with Nathan Fillion. “Nathan is one of those friends who always shares great travel stories and advice,” she revealed, reports the Express US.
“He’s helped us discover some incredible places-like Bora Bora! He’s just that kind of person, someone who elevates the experience of working together.”
Niecy, a seasoned actress known for her remarkable performances, reportedly had a great relationship with Fillion on The Rookie set. “I’ve realized there’s a passion for acting I didn’t even know I had,” Jessica concluded the interview.
Jessica and Neicy tied the knot in August 2022 and according to them, their bond is still as strong as ever.
