Doctor Who star Susan Twist will return as yet another mysterious figure in the fourth episode of series 14, titled ’73 Yards’.
Having already appeared in ‘Wild Blue Yonder’, ‘The Church on Ruby Road’, ‘Space Babies’ and ‘The Devil’s Chord’, Twist will be playing a character called Hiker in next week’s instalment of the sci-fi adventure show (via RadioTimes).
A synopsis reveals that the Time Lord (Ncuti Gatwa) and Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson) anchor down on the Welsh coast before embarking on “the strangest journey of their lives”.
As well as Twist, the guest cast includes Peaky Blinders actor Aneurin Barnard as politician Roger, Good Omens’ Sian Phillips as Enid, Call the Midwife’s Maxine Evans as Lowri, Mammoth’s Sion Pritchard as Joshua, The Winter King’s Gwion Morris Jones as Ifor, and Andor’s Glyn Pritchard as Eddie.
Doctor Who boss Russell T Davies previously hyped up ’73 Yards’ while speaking to Michael Ball on BBC Radio 2.
“I watched episode 4 last night, and I think it’s one of the greatest things I’ve ever made in my life, so I’m very, very happy with it. It’s looking so good, Michael, I love it,” he beamed.
The final quartet of episodes for this current series are titled ‘Dot and Bubble’, ‘Rogue’, ‘The Legend of Ruby Sunday’ and ‘Empire of Death’.
Ahead of its premiere this weekend, Digital Spy described episode three, ‘Boom’, as “the best of Ncuti Gatwa’s season so far”.
Doctor Who debuts new episodes at midnight on Saturday, airing on BBC One in the UK and Disney+ elsewhere. Classic episodes of Doctor Who are available on BBC iPlayer in the UK.
