Fans were devastated last year when Blue Bloods was canceled after 14 seasons—but thanks to an upcoming spinoff series, viewers can continue to keep up with at least one beloved character.
Donnie Wahlberg, who played Danny Reagan on Blue Bloods, took to Instagram on Tuesday, March 25 to share a teaser for the series Boston Blue, set to premiere on CBS in the fall of 2025. In the super short clip, Wahlberg was seen peering around the side of a building with an intense look on his face.
“So excited to carry on the tradition, to share so many surprises, to answer some unanswered questions and to welcome all of you — to #BostonBlue! The next chapter in the #BlueBloods legacy begins. I can’t wait. See you CBS fall! 💙❤️🙏🏼” Wahlberg captioned his post.
Wahlberg isn’t the only one who “can’t wait” for the show, as the comments proved.
“So excited!! Can’t wait for this!!!💙#LFG!!” one person gushed, with a second agreeing, “Cant wait for this!!! 👏”
“Can’t wait to see this show and you carry on the Reagan legacy! 🥰” someone else added, with another commenter saying, “Can’t wait. I do hope some of the old cast makes some appearances. Still so sad that Blue Bloods has ended. Still miss it so much.”
