“Dr. Lenox’s Battle Royale: New Adversary Shakes Up Chicago Med Season 10”

In Chicago Med season 10, episode 12, original character Maggie Lockwood asks Nurse Doris to restock medication due to a staffing shortage. However, Doris makes a crucial mistake, a rarity for a nurse who has been on the One Chicago show for a long time. She accidentally mixes up medicine doses for a man and a child, resulting in the child’s condition worsening. This incident upsets Dr. Caitlin Lenox, and she tells Doris she’s finished at Med, but Maggie urges Lenox to not fire her fellow nurse.

Nurse Doris is in a rough position because she’s an essential character in Chicago Med who wants to retain her job, causing a rift between Maggie and Lenox. Besides Dr. Dean Archer and medical director Sharon Goodwin, no one has stood up to Lenox to challenge her strict guidelines, including letting people go on the spot. But Maggie has no hesitation in expressing her feelings to Lenox and fighting for Doris’s job. In doing so, Maggie’s stand may jeopardize Lenox’s job and force her to reconsider how she handles the job security of the staff in Med.

Chicago Med Season 10, Episode 12 Sees Maggie Going Up Against Lenox

Lenox Has A New Nemesis In Maggie After Trying To Fire Doris

Luke Mitchell as Mitch Ripley, Sarah Ramos as Caitlin Lenox, and Lynnette Li as Nurse Nancy in Chicago Med

Ever since Dr. Lenox joined Chicago Med during the show’s landmark tenth season, she has stormed her way to leading the ED with her stern demeanor toward other staff members. Lenox is a leader who always takes the “my way or the highway” approach and stands by her medical decisions when treating patients. However, her attitude has rubbed most of her colleagues the wrong way. Lenox may have met her match when Maggie speaks out against her decision to fire Nurse Doris for her uncharacteristic mistake.

Unlike Lenox, Maggie and Doris are veterans at Med who have compassion for their colleagues and are more forgiving when uncommon mistakes are made in the hospital. They have a balanced demeanor of humor and seriousness at work, and back each other during times of conflict. But now with Lenox running the ED, every doctor and nurse has to watch their backs and be more aware of their actions. Maggie finally taking a stand reminds Lenox that she needs to be more transparent with her staff because they can’t afford to lose experienced medical practitioners when dealing with several patients every day.

Lenox’s Conflict With Maggie Could Cost Her Being Gaffney’s ED Head

Lenox’s Demeanor Towards Everyone Will Jeopardize Her Job

Dr. Lenox previously found her job security in jeopardy when she constantly argued with Dr. Archer about running the ED. But Maggie highlights that Lenox’s position still may not be that secure thanks to her own attitude. Maggie effectively makes her case to Lenox about Doris keeping her job, telling the ED leader that firing Doris will force her to resign as well, causing the staff to be two nurses short. This forces Lenox to think about her decision. Maggie’s rational argument only underscores that Lenox lacks the people skills that are crucial to effectively running an emergency department.

Sharon also won’t be able to side with Lenox if she fights with nearly everyone in the ED. Now that Maggie has spoken up for Doris, Lenox has challenging choices to make regarding how she intends to work with her Chicago Med colleagues while minimizing conflict moving forward. If everyone speaks out against Lenox, or she has a few more conflicts like this, her days as the ED head may be numbered. The silver lining is that it may lead to an opportunity for Dr. Archer to bounce back from his Chicago Med demotion and lead the ED again, since Sharon begged him to stay after saving her from her stalker attack.
