‘Elsbeth’ Season 3 First Look: Julia Fox Brings Her “I’m So Julia” Energy to CBS’ Smartest Detective md18

Elsbeth is so much fun, and now that we are into Season 3, the series has really found its footing, and we know exactly what to expect. Still, it is very fun to see how each new case challenges our detective queen. Elsbeth Tascioni (Carrie Preston) first appeared on The Good Wife and was so captivating that she got her own series, and she is the best detective mind that the New York police department has. Now she has to face off against an icon herself: Julia Fox.

Fox, who has starred in movies like Him and Uncut Gems, has become a household name for social media posts and general vibes. Charli XCX has even given us the line “I’m so Julia” in her song “360” about the actress. And now, she’s facing off against Elsbeth! Today, Collider is excited to share images of Fox and Preston squaring off with one another in the third episode of Season 3. Fox will play a “Grief Influencer” named Raquel, and the episode will also feature the return of Carra Patterson as Detective Kaya Blanke. The episode, titled “Good Grief,” will air on October 23 and is described as follows:

“When “grief influencer” Raquel Drabowski’s (Julia Fox) presumed-dead husband makes a miraculous return, their reunion takes a fatal plunge. Meanwhile, Elsbeth’s surprise reunion with an old friend could expose a dangerous undercover operation.”

In our exclusive first look images, we get to see Fox smiling at Elsbeth, and then the other two images suggest things get tense between Fox and Elsbeth. One image sees Elsbeth sitting in a chair and looking terrified, and another shows Fox looking less than pleased to be standing with Elsbeth. Does this mean that Elsbeth knows something is up? Or are the two trying to solve it together? Whatever happens, it is going to be pretty iconic watching Preston and Fox square off against each other when she guest stars in Season 3.

The Best Part of ‘Elsbeth’

From the start of the series, Elsbeth has used the “case of the week” structure to bring in some of the biggest stars to try and get one over on Elsbeth and her detective skills. We have had episodes where Elsbeth has had to confront all her past cases all at the same time, like when she went to jail and had a lovely musical number with Elizabeth Lail and Stephen Moyer, but there is a joy to seeing who Elsbeth has to face off against each week. The images of Fox are exciting, and we can’t wait to see what kind of energy she brings into Elsbeth’s life.
