Erotic Bridgerton fan theory about season 3 ‘carriage scene’ confirmed

An erotic fan theory about the Bridgerton season 3 carriage scene concerning Colin Bridgerton’s fingers has just been confirmed… and fans are absolutely losing it.

In the final moments of the newly released episodes on Netflix, Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin (Luke Newton) finally confess their feelings for one another, before having an extremely heavy make-out session in the back of a carriage.

During their passionate tryst, Colin places his right hand under Penelope’s skirt after she signals her consent, leaving her moaning with pleasure before the carriage comes to an abrupt stop outside Bridgerton House.
Several eagle-eyed viewers spotted that when Colin fixes Penelope’s left dress sleeve, the ‘respectful king’ was ‘making sure to not touch’ the garment using the second and third fingers on his hand for… obvious reasons.

While this could have just been perceived as a far-fetched fan theory, it turns out that it was very much Luke’s intention to include this little – and tantalising – detail in the scene.

Andrew Ahn, the director of the episode, responded to a fan’s tweet about the raunchy encounter on X.

The original tweet from @colbridgertons asked: ‘I know it’s such an inappropriate question to ask but for the sake of journalism I need someone to take one for the team and ask who’s idea it was to have Colin fix Penelope’s dress with only a few fingers [sic].’

In response, Andrew quote-tweeted the message, replying: ‘I wish I could take credit for this incredible moment of… physical authenticity, but I did not give this piece of direction. It was all Luke Newton!’

As can be expected, fans of the show couldn’t have been more excited if they’d tried by the Bridgerton director’s admission.

As can be expected, fans of the show couldn’t have been more excited if they’d tried by the Bridgerton director’s admission.
Metro.co.uk recently had the chance to speak to Bridgerton stars Nicola and Luke, with the pair opening up about their intimate moments in season three and what fans can expect when part two drops in June.

Nicola, 37, explained how ‘empowered’ she felt filming her sex scenes with Luke, 31, and how instrumental it was for them to work with their ‘amazing’ intimacy coordinator Lizzy Talbot.

‘People go well, is it like a stunt or is it like a dance? It’s not really like that. It’s more like giving you a framework to do it the way you want to do it. And we had a lot of say in how we wanted things to go,’ she explained.

‘It’s not like, you kiss for three seconds and then you move your hand. We knew we had to hit certain points, but we were able to flow with it and make it seem natural and organic. It’s amazing having that control. It makes you feel very empowered.’
Season three part one ends with Colin hopping out of the carriage and proposing to Penelope, leaving an excruciating cliffhanger before part two.
