‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ Star Patricia Heaton Shares Bold Political Statement About America’s Future
Patricia Heaton is all aboard the Trump Train.
In a new interview with Fox News Digital, the Everybody Loves Raymond star shared her blunt opinion on President Donald Trump‘s administration so far, and she’s nothing but optimistic about where the country is headed.
“I want everybody to feel that America is on the right track, feel proud of America and grateful,” Heaton said, looking ahead to the next four years of Trump’s second term as president.
Her viewpoint stems from years of international service with refugees and residents living in poverty in countries like Rwanda, Jordan and Uganda. She has also sponsored kids from Zambia and Guatemala, and those experiences have affirmed a belief that “it’s a privilege to be living in this country.”
She also saw the difference firsthand for her husband, actor and director David Hunt, who immigrated to the U.S. from England. Heaton pointed to the European country’s “class society” as another example, suggesting there’s “so much opportunity here” in comparison.
“When he came over here, it was sort of like people told him, ‘You can do anything you want. And by the way, we want to help you achieve your dreams.’ I think that’s what’s beautiful about the American people. And we want everybody who is here to feel like they can achieve their dreams,” she explained.
In addition to her positive interpretation of Trump’s immigration policies, Heaton is hopeful the current administration will also make further headway with the high tensions in the Middle East, looking forward to them being “settled to some extent.”
“I don’t think it’ll ever completely go away,” she admitted. “There’s thousands of years of history there that’s hard to undo.”
