Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg and the rest of the Reagan clan will return for more stories of the NYPD when Season 14 of ‘Blue Bloods’ premieres its final eight episodes.
“For the past 13 years it has been an honor and a privilege to work on a show that not only celebrates the men and women who protect and serve in New York City but also displays the importance of family,” said series star Tom Selleck, who plays NYPD Commissioner Frank Reagan. “Working alongside these incredible actors, writers, producers, directors and crew has been a dream come true and I’m grateful to have been a part of this extraordinary group for over 275 episodes. Thank you to CBS Studios and CBS Network for their steadfast support and we offer heartfelt gratitude to the fans who gathered with us for dinner every Friday night.”
And even as it’s labeled a police procedural, the truth is Blue Bloods is more of a family drama, the family being the Reagans, the first family of New York law enforcement, with Selleck starring as Police Commissioner Frank Reagan as well as the patriarch of the family as father to Danny (Donnie Wahlberg), Erin (Bridget Moynahan) and Jamie (Will Estes).

Are there any spoilers for the second half of Blue Bloods Season 14?
Showrunner Kevin Wade told TV Insider after the Part 1 finale that he’s committed to making the same show he has these past 14 seasons for these final eight episodes, most importantly, he doesn’t see Frank retiring.
Wade also shared that he would wrap up the series in the finale, despite the hope that there will be more Blue Bloods in some format.
“There won’t be any cliffhangers because there’s no cliff, but it ends,” Wade told TV Insider. “Anything we would do that was an open question would by definition never be answered, so we’re trying to bring character stories to a close in that one. Obviously, we have some stories, some plot, but no, it’s designed as the last one.”
Sunday family dinners are the one thing that can always be counted on each episode with Frank and Henry overseeing the family.
Will There Be a Blue Bloods Spinoff?
Paramount Global co-CEO Brian Robbins hinted back in June that a new Blue Bloods series is in the works. He said at an annual stockholders meeting, “In TV, new franchise extensions are coming for Dexter, Billions, and Blue Bloods.”
And Robbins has since been backed up in his statement by CBS Studios President David Stapf, who told Deadline that while there are no immediate spinoff plans, they are trying to figure out a way to make the series a franchise.
“We don’t have anything that’s going to be in development soon but it’s a brand, a title, and a show that is beloved,” Stapf told Deadline. “We’ve got to get it right so we’re taking our time and trying to figure it out, OK, what is the next iteration of Blue Bloods? We have a whole season to go where we intend to celebrate it all season long as to how good that show is, so there’s still time for us to figure that out.”
What happened at the end of part one of Blue Bloods Season 14?
The midseason finale saw Danny and Gormley teamed up as they tried to reign in Gus Vanderlip (Aidan Quinn), a detective who went rogue when a serial rapist he had arrested two weeks earlier was released because of the city’s bail reform law.
Then, on the eve of their fifth wedding anniversary, Jamie and Eddie were sent on an undercover assignment at a rehab facility that was believed to be running an insurance scam – and it was.
