Alexandra Breckenridge, known for her role in Virgin River, has shared that fans can soon expect some thrilling news about the upcoming sixth season. In her recent Instagram Stories, she hinted at “a lot of information” trickling out as the season approaches its release later this year.
The 42-year-old actress addressed her followers, stating, “There’s a lot of information that’s about to come out about season six of Virgin River. I’m not going to spoil it for you, but just know that some info will start seeping its way out to you soon.”
This update comes on the heels of Breckenridge addressing backlash from comments about the relationship between characters Brie (Zibby Allen) and Brady (Benjamin Hollingsworth), who ended their relationship in season five. During a recent episode of her podcast, I Like You Very Much, co-hosted with Zibby, she jokingly advised Brie against reuniting with Brady: “If I could give advice to Brie… I’d say, ‘Don’t get back together with Brady!'”
Her remarks didn’t sit well with some fans, prompting Breckenridge to urge viewers to “calm down.” She clarified, “If you were just in the Virgin River world and didn’t know anything else, you would give her the same advice. It’s just a TV show. It’s not real life.”
The anticipated new season will see Alexandra return as Mel, alongside Martin Henderson as Jack Sheridan, as they navigate parenthood and transform Lilly’s farm into their dream home. Additionally, Mel’s biological father, Everett Reid, will play a significant role, with showrunner Patrick Sean Smith teasing that he carries a long-held secret.
While an official release date has yet to be announced, fans are eager for the new season of this beloved Netflix romance!
