With the fall television season about to begin, The Paley Center for Media is gearing up to dig into all the biggest shows about to return or premiere on the small screen with the 19th annual PaleyFest Fall TV Previews. Each year since 2006, a selection of hot television stars and creators have been invited in for in-depth conversations, breaking down everything there is to know about their upcoming series and providing a sneak peek for fans eager to dive in when they arrive. Now, the full lineup of previews has been announced, with a mix of cast and creatives from across streaming, network television, and cable programming. All content from the podcast video series will debut on the Paley Center’s official YouTube channel starting on Tuesday, September 16, at 1 p.m. ET.
The 2025 slate of PaleyFest previews will kick off with a conversation with the cast and crew of Acorn TV’s Murder Before Evensong, starring Matthew Lewis, at 1 p.m. ET, followed by the currently-airing The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 3 at 2 p.m. Afterwards, Apple TV+’s upcoming fairytale family animated series The Sisters Grimm will be featured at 3 p.m., with the author of the original books, Michael Buckley, joined by showrunner Amy Higgins and stars Ariel Winter and Leah Newman, among others. Network television will then get a big spotlight over the next two hours, with CBS spin-offs Sheriff Country and Boston Blue featured at 4 p.m. and Fox’s Doc following with a Season 2 preview at 5 p.m. Expanding the universe of the hit Fire Country, the Morena Baccarin-led procedural will bring together a talented team including the flagship series’s co-creator, Tony Phelan, as well as a strong slate of directors. Through the previews, fans will get a behind-the-scenes look at their efforts, as well as those of the team behind Boston Blue, through a video with Baccarin, Donnie Wahlberg, and Sonequa Martin-Green.
Also set to be featured through PaleyFest’s previews is HBO Max’s buzzy series Task from Mare of Easttown creator Brad Ingelsby, at 6 p.m. ET, followed by Season 2 of NBC’s Brilliant Minds with Zachary Quinto at 7 p.m., and OWN’s reality series Heart & Hustle: Houston at 8 p.m. Closing out the day will be Peacock’s Michael Chernus and Gabriel Luna-led true crime-based Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy ahead of its premiere on October 16. Speaking to the nature of the in-depth preview episodes to shine a greater light on television, OWN’s Head of Unscripted Programming, Specials, and Development, Drew Tappon, shared their excitement to return to the program in an official statement.
“We are proud to be back at PaleyFest to celebrate OWN’s newest hit docuseries, Heart & Hustle: Houston, a series our audience has responded to in a big way, thanks in no small part to our cast, a sisterhood of Black women who share their lives and truths with authenticity and heart. It is an honor to showcase these ladies at PaleyFest this year and hope others will be inspired by the heartfelt conversation.”
The Paley Center Continues to Highlight the Best in Television
Established by CBS founder William S. Paley in 1975, The Paley Center has been instrumental in promoting the best in television through its preview content and its signature event PaleyFest, held each year in Los Angeles and New York. This year’s iteration in California featured conversations with the casts and creators behind Severance, Agatha All Along, and Matlock, among other defining hits in the first half of the year. The previews, however, are especially instrumental for connecting fans to the work and stars they love, both directly through each episode, new and old, on YouTube and through supporting the center’s teaching efforts. From workshops to programs addressing greater societal issues and the role of media, and the PaleyArchive, which holds over 160,000 historically-significant television and radio programs, the organization has been instrumental in keeping the spirit of television alive through preservation and education.
The 19th PaleyFest Fall TV Previews begin streaming for free on the official Paley Center YouTube channel starting on September 16 at 1 p.m. ET. See the lineup above and stay tuned here at Collider for more on the upcoming television season as it gets underway.
