Familiar Favorites and One Big Spinoff: ABC Unveils Steady Fall 2025 Schedule

Dancing with the Stars” is as popular as ever and ABC wants to continue its dominance on the dance floor.

“The Bachelorette” may be taking the summer off but fans of the venerable “The Bachelor” franchise can expect a return to the world thanks to “The Golden Bachelor.”

And “Shark Tanks” makes the jump from Fridays to Wednesdays.

ABC’s 2025-2026 schedule is shaping up to play it safe with just one new show while relying on their built in franchises. That’s not to say the network isn’t excited about what they have to offer. According to a press release, their shows consistently performed well in the coveted 18-49 demographic during the 2024-2025 broadcast season.

“High Potential,” “Abbott Elementary,” “The Rookie,” “9-1-1” and “Shifting Gears” hit numbers one through five respectively. “Grey’s Anatomy” continues to play well even after the partial departure of star Ellen Pompeo.

Craig Erwich, Disney Television Group president said the network met audiences where they are as viewers of television: “this achievement really highlights our strategic approach and commitment to creative excellence. Looking ahead, we’re all about maintaining stability, delivering quality, and driving innovation, with new shows and returning favorites from some of the industry’s top creators and biggest stars.”

Not only that, the transition of hit drama “9-1-1” from Fox to ABC has been a boon. A recent, game changing development made this past season required viewing. Now, the world of “9-1-1” will get even busier thanks to “9-1-1: Nashville” joining Thursday nights. The cast for that show features Chris O’Donnell, Jessica Capshaw, LeAnn Rimes and Kimberly Williams-Paisley.

That’s pretty much it in terms of additions. ABC will keep its Monday Night Football, college football, and “America’s Home Videos” in their regular spots.

The midseason is just as intact with premieres of “American Idol,” “Celebrity Jeopardy!,” “The Rookie,” and “Will Trent” on the way.
