LOS ANGELES, Dec. 1 (UPI) — Family Matters stars Reginald VelJohnson and Jo Marie Payton will reunite in a Lifetime movie.
The 63-year-old actor and 65-year-old actress will appear in the network’s forthcoming holiday film, The Flight Before Christmas, starring Mayim Bialik and Ryan McPartlin.
The Lifetime movie follows two travelers (Bialik and McPartlin) stranded in Montana on Christmas Eve. Details about VelJohnson and Payton’s characters are being kept under wraps, but the film will premiere Dec. 5 at 8 p.m. ET.
VelJohnson and Payton played Carl and Harriette Winslow on Family Matters for nine seasons. The series co-starred Kellie Shanygne Williams, Jaimee Foxworth and Jaleel White, and VelJohnson recently told The Hollywood Reporter he’d consider a reboot.
“My years on Family Matters were precious to me,” he shared. “The actual family on the show became my family. We still talk to each other to this day … Bringing us back together again would be wonderful, and I would love to be a part of something like that.”
VelJohnson is also known for portraying Sgt. Al Powell in Die Hard and Die Hard 2, and recently played Tommy on Season 1 of TBS sitcom Clipped. Payton presently stars as Lorraine Mann on Bounce TV series Mann & Wife, which airs Tuesdays.
