The 2025-26 season has been yet another year of change within the One Chicago franchise.
Before Chicago Fire season 14, Chicago Med season 11, and Chicago PD season 13 even premiered, casting changes began to unfold behind the scenes, leading to several major cast exits. These many cast shakeups made it clear that the 2025-26 season could be yet another season of major changes for the One Chicago shows.
Thankfully, following the initial wave of cast exits that hit at the beginning of the seasons, the shows haven’t had to say goodbye to too many additional beloved characters. That’s not to say there haven’t been some goodbyes along the way, as there certainly have, including the recent exit of Dermot Mulroney from Chicago Fire, but there haven’t been near as many shakeups as those we saw at the beginning of the season when five major characters took a step back.
With only a handful of episodes remaining, fans may not be done saying goodbye just yet. For now, though, here’s every cast exit across Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD in the 2025–26 season.

Daniel Kyri (Darren Ritter)
One of the biggest cast exits to come on Chicago Fire in season 14 was the departure of Daniel Kyri as Darren Ritter. Kyri’s exit was confirmed ahead of the season 13 finale as part of cost-cutting measures designed to reduce the show’s cast.
We first met Ritter in season 7 when he joined Firehouse 51 as the newest addition to Engine 51’s team in a recurring role. He’d eventually be promoted to series regular in season 9 and remained an active part of the 51 team up until his exit.
Ritter was written out of the show in the second episode of season 14, “Primary Search,” when he left Chicago to move to New York to be with his longtime boyfriend, Dwayne. The door was thankfully left open for Ritter to return, but he’s not been back since his abrupt exit from the show.

Jack Lockett (Sam Carver)
Also impacted by the season 14 cost-cutting measures was Jake Lockett, whose exit was announced ahead of season 13’s finale along with the exit of Daniel Kyri. Lockett joined the Chicago Fire cast in season 11, bringing Sam Carver to the firehouse in what started as a recurring role and later evolved into a series regular role by season 13.
Carver’s exit storyline was introduced late in season 13 when we learned that he had decided to leave the CFD in order to get a fresh start. As this exit storyline was put into motion in the season 13 finale, the writers did not bring Lockett back at the top of the season, with his official exit from 51 occurring off-camera.
Thankfully, the writers did find a way to bring Lockett back for a guest appearance in season 14, episode 11, “Frostbite Blue,” which gave fans a bit more closure for his character while leaving the door open for a possible return in the future.

Toya Turner (Kiana Cook)
Following the departure of Tracy Spiridakos as Detective Hailey Upton at the end of season 11, Toya Turner joined the Chicago PD cast at the top of season 12 as the Intelligence Unit’s newest addition. Officer Kiana Cook. While Cook seemed to fit in naturally with the rest of the unit, the powers that be seemed to feel otherwise with the character being written out of the show after just one season.
Turner’s exit from the show was announced ahead of season 13, with little information provided as to why her character would not be returning.
In the season 13 premiere, “Consequences,” we’d come to learn that Turner took a permanent spot at the 17th Precinct after the Intelligence Unit was disbanded in the wake of Deputy Chief Charlie Reid’s death. Sadly, Turner didn’t get a proper goodbye on the show, with her exit occurring off-screen.

Marlyne Barrett (Maggie Lockwood)
Perhaps the most unexpected departure this year within the One Chicago franchise was the exit of Marlyne Barrett. Barrett has been a part of the Chicago Med cast since the very beginning and was one of only three original members of the cast still on the show.
Ahead of season 11, it was revealed that Barrett would be taking a step back from the show for personal reasons. At the time, there was hope that Barrett would return as nurse Maggie Lockwood at some point in the season; however, it’s unlikely that fans will see Magge before season 11 concludes.
As Barrett’s exit was unplanned for, her final appearance came in the season 10 finale with the writers addressing Maggie’s absence in the season 11 premiere, “We All Fall Down.” The show kept the specifics of Maggie’s exit vague, simply revealing that she had left Gaffney, but the reason was not made known.

Patrick John Flueger (Adam Ruzek)
This one is a bit of a technicality, but it’s worth noting that Patrick John Flueger did technically exit Chicago PD temporarily this season. Just a few episodes into the season, Flueger took a leave of absence that kept him off the show for five months. Thankfully, this was only a temporary leave, and Flueger returned in episode 14, “Meant to Be,” after missing a total of eight episodes.
During his time away from the show, Ruzek’s absence was not immediately addressed, but we’d eventually come to learn that he had taken some time off to be with his father, whose health was declining.

Michael Bradway (Jack Damon)
Michael Bradway’s exit from Chicago Fire was certainly unexpected. Bradway was expected to return as Severide’s half-brother Jack Damon for season 14; however, the actor had to exit the show due to a scheduling conflict.
During the offseason, Bradway was cast in Prime Video’s series adaptation of Carley Fortune’s best-selling novel Every Summer After. Following his casting in the series, it was announced that Bradway would be taking a step back from Chicago Fire and would not return as a series regular in season 14.
As Bradway’s departure came during the offseason, Damon did not get an on-screen goodbye, with Bradway’s final appearance coming in the season 13 finale. In the season 14 premiere, it was revealed that Damon had been transferred out of 51, and he sadly has not made an appearance on the show since the storyline was introduced.
The good news is that Damon is still alive and well. With Severide coming under attack with Chief Hopkins looking to push him out of the CFD, we imagine Damon will also come under fire, and we can only hope that perhaps Bradway might make a cameo before the season’s end as part of this storyline. However, at this time, there has been no indication that Bradway will return before season 14 ends.

Hero Hunter (Isaiah)
When we first met Hero Hunter’s Isaiah in Chicago Fire season 14, episode 2, “Primary Search,” it seemed as though he would play a major role across the season. This was certainly the case; however, his storyline ended much sooner than expected.
Isaiah came into Severide and Kidd’s lives after his mom was severely injured, creating a need for Isaiah to be placed with a foster family. Severide and Kidd did not hesitate to take Isaiah in, and it didn’t take long for the couple to grow attached to their foster son. Thankfully, his mom’s recovery progressed nicely but this led to eventual exit in episode 9, “Crime of Passion.”
After regaining consciousness, Isaiah’s mom arranged for Isaiah to move to Cleveland to live with a family friend, leading to Hunter’s exit from the series.

Dermot Mulroney (Chief Dom Pascal)
When Dermot Mulroney joined the Chicago Fire cast in season 12, it took fans time to warm up to his Chief Dom Pascal, who joined 51 as the replacement for Chief Wallace Boden. Pascal ruffled a lot of feathers with his leadership style, which was quite different from Boden, but Pascal would come to grow on the audience as we began to get to better know the man behind the walls he’d built up.
Just as it felt as though Pascal was hitting his stride with the show, word broke that Mulroney would be stepping back from it. His exit would officially come in season 14, episode 14,
“Hit and Run,” when it was revealed that Pascal had been relieved of active duty for conduct unbecoming. Following his firing, Pascal accepted a job offer from a friend in Phoenix, which brought an end to his time at 51 and to Mulroney’s time on the show.
It’s unclear whether Mulroney will return, but given that the show is setting up for Severide to become captain at 51 and oversee the firehouse, the odds of Pascal returning to the CFD seem unlikely.
Gregory Alan Williams (Bert Goodwin)
After several seasons of playing Bert Goodwin in a recurring and guest capacity, Gregory Alan Williams excited Chicago Med in season 11 in one of the season’s most heartbreaking storylines.
Following his Alzheimer’s diagnosis in season 9, episode 6, “I Told Myself That I Was Done With You,” Bert’s health has been in a gradual state of decline. His health took a turn for the worse early in season 11 as we learned his Alzheimer’s has advanced. Following a fall, Bert’s health worsened further, and an advanced directive in place prevented surgeons from performing life-saving surgery.
In Chicago Med season 11, episode 9, “Blindsided,” Bert passed away in hospice care with his family by his side. The storyline brought an end to Williams’ time on the show playing Sharon Goodwin’s ex-husband, a role he originated in season 2.
