Farewell Wendy Moniz: The powerful star of the “Yellowstone” series has passed away md20

Things are getting complicated on Kayce Dutton’s U.S. Marshals team.

The April 8 episode of Marshals, the new CBS Yellowstone spinoff, focused on romance, with surprising crush confessions and some very unexpected kisses.

Cal (Logan Marshall-Green) was driving himself crazy holding back information from his teammate, Belle (Arielle Kebbel) after he saw her husband, Jared, kissing another woman outside of a doctor’s office.

He eventually decided to tell Belle what he saw — after some nudging from her — and she revealed that she and her husband have an arrangement. While she wasn’t surprised, she was disappointed, because Jared is supposed to keep his affairs more discreet.

The admission led to a heart-to-heart between Belle and Cal, who were drinking whiskey, and eventually, they kissed. The moment seemed to throw both Cal and Belle off. They both quickly pulled away and tried to shake it off.

Belle called it a “terrible idea” for the two of them to get involved, and Cal apologized, blaming the “booze” and a “long day.”

Meanwhile, Kayce (Luke Grimes), also had a romantic interaction in this week’s episode. After he took Dolly (Ellyn Jameson) on a horseback ride, her dad, Tom (Chris Mulkey), invited Kayce over for dinner, which resulted in an unexpected business proposition that threw off Kayce.

Dolly then added another surprise for Kayce, when she leaned in for a kiss, which he immediately dodged. Later, he confided in Andrea (Ash Santos) about his mixed feelings about moving on after his wife Monica’s death, and how guilty he feels. It proved to be water under the bridge, though, as Dolly came back to East Camp at the end of the episode, apologized for the sneak-attack kiss and she and Kayce went on another horseback ride together.

Fellow Marshal on Kayce’s team, Miles (Tatanka Means), also put a romantic prospect into motion.

He opened up about dating within the Reservation and later confessed to Kayce and Andrea that he was harboring a secret crush. He finally decided to act on it at the end of the episode.

He approached their regular bartender, Maddie (Morgan Lindholm), and confessed his feelings for her. She had been waiting for him to ask her out and said yes, but Miles’ excitement was short-lived, as Maddie revealed her identity — she’s Cal’s daughter.

“I was hoping you might be interested. I just thought maybe you’d chicken out,” Maddie told Miles, who assured her that he was a “confident guy.”

“Well, you must be — asking out your boss’ daughter,” she said, as Miles’ face fell.
