Fate of Soap Alum Jesse Lee Soffer’s CBS Drama ‘FBI International’

The news isn’t good for As the World Turns alum Jesse Lee Soffer’s latest show, CBS’ FBI International.

FBI International Canceled

Late last month, CBS announced the renewal of nine of its shows, including newbie series NCIS Origins and Matlock, as well as veteran series NCISGhosts, Justin Hartley’s Tracker, and Fire Country.

This left a few shows like FBI Most WantedFBI International, and Shemar Moore’s S.W.A.T. on the bubble, waiting to find out their fates. Well, the bad news is in. All three shows have been canceled.

Soffer joined FBI International in its current season. This was the soap alum’s foray back into the world of Dick Wolf after starring on Chicago P.D. for almost 10 seasons. He left the hit NBC cop drama in 2022. And then, in a surprise move, the ATWT actor took over for departing Fly Team leader Luke Kleintank, who exited the show in season three.

While the addition of Soffer helped breathe life into the FBI spinoff, unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to sustain the series. According to Deadline, it’s unclear whether Wolf Entertainment/Universal TV will shop FBI International around and find a new platform or if this is it. However, the season four drama is still in production, so the producers have time to give the high-stakes crime procedural a proper ending. Meanwhile, TV Line reported that episodes of FBI International average 6.53 million viewers, which is down from its season three average.

A disappointed FBI International fan on X posted, “Come on @cbs!! You need to give @FBIIntCBS more time with a new lead only in his first season.” Meanwhile, another sadly stated, “Through the tears, questions, and memories; I can safely say these final episodes will be cherished on a whole new level. #FBIInternational
