It’s finally time to find out what’s up with Nina, Scola and their mysterious new baby as CBS hosts an FBI crossover in honor of the cross-show couple. Nina (Shantel VanSanten) first showed up in Season 4 of FBI, and by the end of Season 5, she had a baby with Agent Scola (John Boyd). He remains a main character on FBI, but Nina has since moved to FBI: Most Wanted for its fifth season. While other characters have asked about her new baby, Douglas, and the fact that she ended her maternity leave a little early to join the Fugitive Task Force, Nina has not been very talkative about her personal life or her family. In fact, she’s been suspiciously tight-lipped about it. But that’s about to change.
In the April 9 episode of Most Wanted, titled “Supply Chain,” we’ll get to go home with Nina and Scola as they work through their differing parenting styles. The crossover will then continue with the following week’s episode of FBI, airing April 16. Meanwhile, Nina’s team on Most Wanted is dealing with a case where a middle-aged woman interrupts a drug deal between two teens and abducts them both.
Scola and Nina aren’t the only members of the FBI task forces facing parenting challenges at the moment as Maggie (Missy Peregrym) recently became guardian of a little girl named Ella. In last week’s episode of FBI, her longtime friend and former colleague Jessica (Charlotte Sullivan) died during surgery to fix her brain aneurysm, leaving behind her young daughter. Maggie was just beginning to think about doing IVF to get pregnant, and now she’s got a whole child.
Maybe, as we head home with Nina and Scola, we’re about to find out more about what kind of daycare situation is available when all parents are FBI agents who risk their life on a regular basis.
The promo for the next episode of FBI: Most Wanted only features Nina and the team on the job, but there is a photo of adorable baby Douglas that may just tide us all over until the episode airs next Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET on CBS.
