FBI: Most Wanted Season 5 Premieres with Cast Changes and New Storylines

🔄 Cast Changes: A New Dynamic

One of the most notable changes this season is the addition of Shantel VanSanten as Special Agent Nina Chase. VanSanten, who previously appeared in FBI Season 4 and had a recurring role in Season 5, transitions into a series regular on Most Wanted. Her character, Nina, continues her relationship with FBI Agent Stuart Scola (John Boyd), and the couple is now raising a child together. This development adds a personal dimension to Nina’s character, blending her professional and personal lives in compelling ways.

In contrast, Alexa Davalos, who portrayed Special Agent Kristin Gaines since Season 3, departs from the series in Season 5. Her character is written out by moving to the Denver Field Office, allowing for a smooth transition without disrupting the team’s dynamic.

🕵️‍♂️ New Storylines and Team Dynamics

The introduction of Nina Chase brings a new energy to the team. Roxy Sternberg, who plays Sheryll Barnes, commented on the transition, noting that Nina’s familiarity with the FBI universe made her integration into Most Wanted smoother. Sternberg described VanSanten as “an incredible joy to work with” and expressed excitement about the fresh perspectives Nina brings to the team.

Additionally, Steven Williams joins the cast in a recurring role as Ray Cannon Sr., the father of Ray Cannon (Edwin Hodge). Ray Sr. is portrayed as one of the few Black agents in the FBI during his youth, serving as an inspiration for his son’s career.
