‘FBI’s Jubal Valentine Makes a Huge Shift in New Season 7 Images

Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine (Jeremy Sisto) is the glue that holds together different sects of his team. He has been instrumental in coordinating some of the biggest operations that Alpha Team has ever undertaken, all from the bullpen with the screens and that earpiece. Jubal ventures into the field but rarely gets involved in the physical aspect of the job. Instead, he continues coordination from a distance as field agents do their work. That’s why images from FBI Season 7, Episode 10, “Redoubt,” tease a major shift in Jubal’s duties when he takes over the duties of field agents during a particularly personal case. The logline below for the February 4 episode teases a Jubal-centric episode, while the images preview how his case affects him as he takes the lead in the field.

“Jubal’s longtime confidential informant brings intel of an impending large-scale terror attack to the team, but when the details don’t add up, Jubal must sift out the truth from a man who’s known him at his worst.”

A Rare Jubal Surfaces in ‘FBI’ Season 7, Episode 10

In the images above, Jubal trades the earpiece for a gun. He also trades the bullpen for an interrogation room as he tries to thwart another attack, but there is something odd about this case. At this stage, it is unclear what Jubal suspects is wrong with his informant, but whatever it is, he’ll try to get to the bottom of it before his team is taken out. According to the images, this might have something to do with a convict Jubal is seen placing under arrest, so maybe everything turns out okay. However, this will be a challenge for Jubal, given how much of himself he puts on the line physically and emotionally. “The man who has known him” is Faheem Ellahie (Omid Abtahi), who is related to the convict Danish Ellahie (Naren Weiss), so there is a motive for Faheem to twist the truth to save his kin. Jubal’s ex, Samantha Kelton (Mara Davi), is back, too.

Before Jubal’s episode, FBI will check in with Scola (John Boyd) in Episode 9, “Descent.” In the January 28 episode, “The investigation into an assistant U.S. attorney’s death leads the team to a related airline whistleblower scandal and the chilling discovery that they don’t have much time to thwart terrorists from crashing numerous in-flight commercial airplanes. Dealing with the memory of his brother, who was a 9/11 victim, the case pushes Scola hard to prevent another catastrophe,” reads the official logline.
