FBI’s OA & Maggie Romance Prospects Get Honest Response From Star

FBI star Missy Peregrym gave an honest response about the potential romance between Maggie and OA. The CBS drama premiered in 2018 and tracks cases handled by the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s New York office. While agents Maggie Bell (Peregrym) and Omar Adom Zidan (Zeeko Zaki) have grown close, the show hasn’t indicated whether their relationship will evolve. Throughout its run, Maggie and OA’s storylines have involved other romantic partners, including the former’s deceased husband Jason and OA’s girlfriend Gemma in FBI season 6.

During a recent interview with TV Insider, Peregrym discussed Maggie and OA’s possible romance. Despite viewers’ wishes, she revealed that it would be unlikely for the characters to fall in love, adding that she appreciates where Maggie’s story has gone. Read Peregrym’s comments below:

” It’s so funny. So many people are coming up to me now and really hoping that we get together. They keep asking if that’s going to happen in the future. I don’t think so. What’s so great about us is that we do have a platonic relationship that we can lean on each other and support each other through other life things.

But at this point, we’re just such a team in that way. I don’t know if we’d want to mess that up by even having anything else go on, because then that’s the biggest risk, to blow everything up if it didn’t go well.

I love the way our dynamic is. I really do. There’s something really nice for me anyway, also, as a female, my career had to be built on, I was the girlfriend, and I’ve done a lot of work where I didn’t have to. I’m always attracted to the jobs where it’s not relying on that part of my feminine nature to push a story forward or to have a character. I love that I have my own character outside of a relationship, so I’m attracted to the way that it is right now. “

Should FBI’s Maggie & OA Be More Than Friends?

Why Maggie & OA’s Relationship Should Remain Platonic?

Even if Maggie and OA remain single, there shouldn’t be any expectation surrounding a possible romance between them, particularly because Peregrym mentioned how much she values Maggie’s current storyline.

Audiences continue to advocate for Maggie and OA’s relationship to develop more intimacy, but as Peregrym explained, the changing storylines or unforeseeable consequences could negatively affect future seasons of FBI. However, it’s not uncommon for long-running shows to incorporate romantic threads, especially when they involve main characters. There are many theories that Maggie and OA will end up together, and though time will tell, Peregrym’s comments suggest that there are currently no plans to explore that side of their partnership.

Maggie spends much of FBI season 1 mourning Jason’s death while uncovering the truth about his vehicle accident, so it makes sense for Peregrym’s character to wait out any potential relationships. As for OA, the series introduced a few romantic interests in Mona and Gemma. Having been together for some time, and getting playfully teased by Maggie after seeing them kiss, OA and Gemma seemed to break up because of her questionable extracurricular activities.

Even if Maggie and OA remain single, there shouldn’t be any expectation surrounding a possible romance between them, particularly because Peregrym mentioned how much she values Maggie’s current storyline. FBI viewers will likely be upset to learn that the characters won’t be romantically involved, but they can still look forward to seeing their friendship progress.
