Fifty Shades Darker just got a little bit sexier: the newly debuted trailer features Miguel covering Beyoncé’s “Crazy In Love.”
Flexing his notably seductive tenor, the singer strips down the song’s high-energy fire to a slower, sultrier pace. He nabs the torch from Bey herself, who repurposed the original 2003 track for the film’s 2015 blockbuster precursor, Fifty Shades of Grey.
Based on the 2012 bestselling novel by British author E.L. James, the upcoming sequel sees Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson reprise their roles as Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey, a college grad and business magnate enthralled in an illicit BDSM relationship.
Fifty Shades Darker features returning actors Marcia Gay Harden as Christian’s mother, Rita Ora and Luke Grimes as siblings Mia and Elliot, and Max Martini as Christian’s trusted bodyguard Taylor, while Victor Razuik and Eloise Mumford resurface as Jose and Kate, Ana’s college friends. Director James Foley also returns to helm the project.
The flick also taps a string of faces fresh to the franchise, adding Kim Basinger as Christian’s experienced ex-lover Elena Lincoln, Hannibal’s Hugh Dancy as psychiatrist Dr. John Flynn, Eric Johnson (The Knick) as publishing tycoon Jack and Teen Wolf’s Tyler Hoechlin, who plays author Boyce Fox.
Fifty Shades Darker hits theaters Feb. 10, 2017. Watch the trailer, featuring Miguel’s “Crazy In Love” cover, below.
