Fifty Shades of Grey sequel Fifty Shades Freed casts Brant Daugherty as Luke Sawyer

Pretty Little Liars actor Brant Daugherty has joined the cast of Fifty Shades Freed, the third movie in the Fifty Shades of Grey series.

The actor will play Luke Sawyer, the bodyguard Christian (Jamie Dornan) employs to look after Anastasia (Dakota Johnson), as revealed by Fifty Shades author E.L. James on social media. “Thanks for the warm welcome,” Daugherty wrote on Twitter. “I can’t say how excited I am to bring Sawyer to life.” He continued on Instagram, “Can’t wait for you all to see what we have in store…”

Daugherty joins a cast that includes Bella Heathcote as Leila Williams, Eric Johnson as Jack Hyde, Arielle Kebbell as Gia Matteo, and Kim Basinger as Elena Lincoln.

James Foley will direct the next two installments from scripts penned by James’ husband, Niall Leonard. Fifty Shades Freed is scheduled for theaters on Feb. 9, 2018, while the second installment, Fifty Shades Darker, will drop on Feb. 10, 2017.
