Peg Munson Wins Mel Owens’ Final Rose and Engagement

Mel Owens chose 62-year-old Peg Munson as his final rose winner, and Mel reportedly got down on one knee and proposed to Peg during the Final Rose Ceremony in Antigua!

Peg brought something refreshingly different to the season with her no-nonsense energy and genuine authenticity. She wasn’t there to play games or chase fame; she came looking for a real connection, and apparently, that’s exactly what Mel needed.

The finale came down to Peg and Cindy Angelcyk Cullers, and both women had developed strong connections with Mel. No doubt his decision was difficult.

Peg’s relationship with Mel actually started with some playful banter. Peg joked about not having fake hips (callback to Mel’s comments about older women), and that sense of humor and ability to keep things real set her apart.

Bachelor Nation’s go-to spoiler source, Reality Steve, confirmed the engagement weeks before the finale aired (via Red94).

Mel himself admitted the choice was tough, but he ultimately followed his gut and went with the woman who created that undeniable magnetic pull. As he mentioned in his interview with Glamour,

Cindy was more open, as you can see, during the season. And Peg was sort of closed off and really a difficult person to get to know. Cindy’s affectionate and smart. I like Peg because she’s high-energy, but she was really not that affectionate in the beginning. I mean, she’s just really not an affectionate person. I just wanted a little more affection from Peg that I just couldn’t get.
