Fire Country Season 3: Bode’s road to freedom, new characters, and trouble ahead

As the third season of ‘Fire Country’ that brings along with it substantial changes is on its way, it will centre around the life journey of Bode Donovan as he learns to live his life post being released from jail. Max Thieriot, portraying Bode, will also be a regular cast member of the show besides working as the co-creator, an executive producer, and at times director. ‘Season 3’ will be aired on 18 October 2024 on CBS as part of its Friday night schedule.

The plot would feature Bode as he continued to make his way in his new world outside Three Rock Camp, where he had discovered direction as a firefighter during his time within the camp. Life outside of the penitentiary would be full of new challenges: from getting work to navigating his complicated love life with Gabriela and readjusting to life outside the prison system. Showrunner Tia Napolitano has revealed that Season 3 is all about Bode’s emotional struggles and what, in the end, being part of the Leone family truly is to him.

The vast majority of the regular cast will be back. Max Thieriot remains Bode, Kevin Alejandro still Manny, Stephanie Arcila still Gabriela, Jules Latimer still Eve, and Jordan Calloway still Jake. The rest of the cast includes Bode’s parents Vince and Sharon Leone, who will be played by Billy Burke and Diane Farr, respectively. Returning is Gabriela’s fiancé, Diego, played by Rafael de la Fuente. Michael Trucco also returns in his role of Luke, Vince’s brother.

New characters will be brought into the mix in Season 3 to further complicate the plot. Jared Padalecki guest stars as Camden, a firefighter, who sees something special in Bode; Leven Rambin enters as Audrey, a character with a past much like that of Bode, who spent her time in a fire camp.

Even when Bode is released, he will always have connections to Three Rock Camp; Napolitano said that even though characters like Eve and Cole are let go, their active roles at the camp will be maintained all season long.

Firefighting is, and will still be, a part of Bode’s identity; most of the season will revolve around his determination to make a legacy for himself in the same profession. The rest of the season and hard work at establishing himself on that job will deal with: Gabriela’s wedding day, and ongoing dynamics of his family with parents and uncle.

*Fire Country* Season 3 will air on CBS on Friday nights at 9 p.m. ET, and each episode will also be available the following day for streaming on Paramount+. The new episodes will provide viewers with a deeper understanding of Bode’s life outside prison.
