Fire Country Season 3 Still Can’t Make Bode & Gabriela Happen Because Of A Twist Character Betrayal

Fire Country Season 3 Still Can’t Make Bode & Gabriela Happen Because Of A Twist Character Betrayal

Gabriela stopping the wedding by running towards saving the patients finally revealed the truth about her and Bode’s feelings in Fire Country season 3’s premiere, but one character’s unexpected request can still impede their relationship. Fire Country season 3, episode 1 had multiple secrets unveiled and season 2’s cliffhanger ending resolved by the helicopter crash putting a stop to Gabriela and Diego’s wedding, although the reason behind Gabriela faltering is also explained by the episode’s end. However, while Bode and Gabriela’s feelings finally being admitted could make their relationship more likely, one character’s intervention can also indefinitely separate the couple.

After spending the entirety of season 2 avoiding each other or denying their feelings, Fire Country season 3 forced Bode and Gabriela to finally admit the truth about what was in their hearts in the season premiere. Bode shutting out Gabriela in Fire Country season 1’s ending heavily influenced Gabriela’s behavior in season 2, leading her to ignore Bode until she couldn’t anymore. Finding herself about to marry Diego nonetheless made Gabriela realize how “more alive” she felt during her kiss with Bode at the campaign fire, making marrying Diego less likely and reigniting her relationship with Bode more probable.

Manny’s Secret Request To Sharon In Fire Country Season 3 Premiere Explained
Manny Worries Bode & Gabriela Will End Up Like Him & Roberta

Manny’s opposition to Bode crashing Gabriela’s wedding was already evident in Fire Country season 2, episode 10. His speech about that day being Gabriela’s happiest was what convinced Bode not to tell Gabriela of his feelings for her, although neither Manny nor Bode knew about Gabriela actually reciprocating Bode’s feelings at that moment. While that setting made Manny’s interference a genuine concern, especially considering how he couldn’t know that Gabriela still had feelings for Bode, his request to Sharon in Fire Country season 3, episode 1 can potentially hide manipulative intentions after knowing that Gabriela chose to stop the wedding.

Manny insinuated that what he saw when he looked at Bode and Gabriela tending to spot fires was a “lovers’ quarrel,” even accusing Bode of wanting to “ruin his daughter’s wedding” to Vince. Only hearing from Vince that Gabriela ran relieved towards the victims of the crashed helicopter convinced Manny how Bode and Gabriela were emotionally involved, prompting his unusual request to Sharon. Manny wanting to keep Bode and Gabriela apart because their dynamics reminded him of him and his ex-wife Roberta proved his concern for both, but asking that of Sharon cements Bode and Gabriela’s difficulties to be together.

Manny & Sharon Can Be The Biggest Impediment To Bode & Gabriela’s Romance
Fire Country Season 3’s Reason For Keeping Bode & Gabriela Is Worse Than Prison And Diego

Sharon did not seem convinced by Manny’s appraisal of what Bode and Gabriela’s relationship could cause in Fire Country season 3, episode 1, but that does not mean that seeing them in action couldn’t change her mind. Indeed, between her supposed blindness to Gabriela and Bode’s feelings for each other and the pressure to make sure Bode’s parole went smoothly, Sharon could easily be convinced to do Manny’s bidding, especially if they were to convict Manny, as that would make his request the last before going to jail, making it imperative for her to keep her word to him.

Manny and Sharon’s plan could potentially be much worse than the impediments to Bode and Gabriela’s relationship of Fire Country seasons 1 and 2. Indeed, Bode being incarcerated was supposed to stop them from starting a relationship, but Bode and Gabriela still did. Similarly, Gabriela being engaged to Diego only temporarily stopped her from thinking about Bode. However, Manny and Sharon working against them to preserve Gabriela’s future and Bode’s parole would be more difficult for them to oppose, especially if they were without good enough reasons, as it would be done in Bode and Gabriela’s interests.

Why It’s Best To Keep Bode & Gabriela Separated In Fire Country (For Now)
Fire Country Season 3 Has More Interesting Storylines

Gabriela and Bode’s history saw them fight so much to be romantically entangled, and their having the chance to be together for the first time in Fire Country season 3 makes their story all the more timely. However, while it could be difficult to keep Bode and Gabriela apart now that they know about each other’s feelings, separating them could still work out. Indeed, although being introduced hastily, Manny’s preoccupation with Bode and Gabriela could be reasonable, especially because Bode had just been released and Gabriela had just started her new career.

Being kept apart could work in [Bode and Gabriela’s] favor, as a focus on other storylines could make it more likely for their love to be explored more thoroughly later on.

A better reason to keep Bode and Gabriela apart would have nothing to do with them, though. Indeed, with Jake and Gen having to face Rick’s intrusion, Bode’s path to become a firefighter, and even Manny’s freedom being threatened, Fire Country season 3 has more interesting storylines than Bode and Gabriela’s usual Will They/Won’t They. Being kept apart could work in their favor, as a focus on other storylines could make it more likely for their love to be explored more thoroughly later on, letting Fire Country season 3 be initially about the storylines already set up in season 2.
