Fire Country Season 3’s New Character Makes Bode’s Season 2 Finale Crime More Heartbreaking For Gabriela

Fire Country Season 3’s New Character Makes Bode’s Season 2 Finale Crime More Heartbreaking For Gabriela

One new character in Fire Country season 3 could add insult to injury for Gabriela if she were to become Bode’s new love interest. Bode and Gabriela’s love story has long been at the center of Fire Country, but season 2’s finale made things less straightforward for the couple. After Bode and Gabriela kissed in Fire Country season 2, episode 9, Bode intended to tell Gabriela about his feelings before she married Diego. However, meeting with Manny after he had just seen his daughter changed Bode’s mind, wanting to preserve Gabriela’s happiness instead of focusing on what he felt.

Fire Country season 2 marked a difficult moment for them, as she refused to acknowledge him when he came back to Three Rock given how Bode ignored her letters upon returning to prison. Gabriela eventually decided to bury the hatchet to promote cooperation, especially considering how often Three Rock and Station 42 collaborated. Cara’s heartbreaking Fire Country season 2 death only pulled them closer, prompting them to admit how they will always be important to each other, but the Lazarus fire’s threat to life eventually forced them to face what they always left unspoken – the aftermath of Bode’s prison return.

The dangerous nature of firefighters and inmate firefighters’ jobs at the heart of Fire Country caused various deaths in the Edgewater community.

Bode Can Move On With Leven Rambin’s Audrey In Fire Country Season 3
Audrey Could Be Bode’s New Romantic Interest After He Let Gabriela Go

After everything that almost but in the end didn’t happen in Fire Country season 2’s finale between Bode and Gabriela, the addition of Leven Rambin’s Audrey to Fire Country season 3 could make things even more difficult for them. While it’s not confirmed whether Audrey will be Bode’s new romantic interest in Fire Country season 3, Audrey as a former fire camp inmate makes it more likely for her and Bode to connect over their shared past.

Fire Country season 1 already let Bode and Rebecca, another fire camp inmate, connect romantically, and such a connection could be easily repeated between Bode and Audrey in season 3. Bode moving on from his feelings for Gabriela would let him focus on his future after Fire Country season 2’s finale let him share his intention to become a firefighter within Cal Fire, and a connection with Audrey could spearhead such a focus, after he spent the best part of season 2 pining over Gabriela while affirming nothing could be done about his feelings for her.

A new relationship would help Bode focus on a fresh start instead of continuing to think about what went wrong with Gabriela, propelling him into his future instead of his past.

Bode Moving On Makes It Worse After Gabriela Wanted Him To Stop The Wedding
Gabriela Clearly Had Doubts About Diego & Wanted Bode To Say Something

From Bode’s perspective, not stopping Gabriela and Diego’s wedding was doing a favor to Gabriela, as Manny had just told him how happy she was on that day. However, a couple of shots focusing on Gabriela looking back to Bode in Fire Country season 2’s finale until she couldn’t find him anymore hinted at her wanting him to stop the wedding. While Gabriela and Diego’s chemistry was undeniable in Fire Country season 2, they already had problems unrelated to Bode, as their row about where Gabriela should go after her certification proved.

Moreover, Bode and Gabriela’s kiss in Fire Country season 2, episode 9 muddied Gabriela’s feelings. Coming clean with Eve about the kiss let Gabriela equate Bode with the outdoor ceremony space that made her skip a beat and Diego to the dependable indoor space she eventually chose, clearly highlighting how her feelings for Bode were strong. Gabriela chose to overlook her feelings for Bode to make the choice she could rely on, but her uncertainty was palpable, making her wish for Bode to do something that could have signaled there could have been a future between them in season 2.

Fire Country season 2s cliffhanger ending showing how Gabriela looked back to Bode twice hinted at her wanting him to do something about the wedding, even when she didnt have the strength to choose him over Diegos reliability.

Bode moving on with Audrey in Fire Country season 3 could be an ulterior betrayal for Gabriela after his inaction already made their feelings difficult to understand, even when Fire Country always set them up as one of if not the key couple. After all, not knowing how much Bode spoke about her to Freddy effectively made her oblivious to what he felt, making her already feel forgotten by him when Bode left the ceremony. Bode dating Audrey, someone who could understand him due to their similar past, could make Gabriela feel even more alone in her feelings for him.

The CBS action drama television series Fire Country is heading into its third season, but the show has been divisive among viewers since season 1.

Can Bode & Gabriela Still Be Endgame In Fire Country?
Fire Country Set Up Bode & Gabriela As The Main Couple Back In Season 1

A successful romance between Bode and Audrey could make Gabriela and fans alike hopeless about Bode and Gabriela reigniting their love in the future, but the two dating would not necessarily put a stop to Bode and Gabriela. After all, the chemistry between Bode and Gabriela was there from the moment they met, when Gabriela was still dating Jake. Gabriela dove off a bridge to save Bode’s life in Fire Country season 1, making it unlikely for a potential Fire Country season 3 romance between Bode and Audrey to erase their past and what they did for each other.

In addition, Fire Country’s popularity does not seem to be fading. With the CBS drama expanding into a franchise with the upcoming Sheriff Country, it’s unlikely for viewers to lose interest in the parent series. Fire Country’s success could thus prolong the show, making it easier for Bode and Gabriela’s relationship to be revisited in the future, especially considering how their feelings never disappeared but were only hindered by Bode’s tough choices in Fire Country season 1.
