Speaking with TV Insider, Thieriot and Rater revealed that Fire Country season 2 will introduce Baccarin’s Micky in episode 6. Thieriot – who also stars as Bode – called the incoming actor “really fun” and “exciting,” while Rater explained how the episode would go about introducing this new side of the budding franchise. Check out what Rater had to say below:
It’s such a natural kind of intersection of those worlds, and it’s really fun to get to know somebody at the sheriff’s office and to see the interaction of agencies. Morena’s amazing. We’re just so excited to explore that world.
Will The Fire Country Spinoff Happen?
If the episode manages to impress, then it could be a sign that another show in the universe is on its way in the future. CBS is no stranger to having expanded universes on TV, with both their NCIS and FBI shows having multiple ongoing companion series. The same could happen to Fire Country, which could be used to more thoroughly explore its setting with a variety of public service and law enforcement avenues.
If a spinoff does get picked up, then it would be good news for Fire Country season 3, which would no doubt continue to explore Bode’s role at Three Rock. It could also make for some interesting crossover events, depending on how the Sheriff’s series is structured. With the episode still a few weeks away, it will be some time before more details about Mickey’s first appearance are revealed.
