In “Basket Case,” Elsbeth steps out of her usual NYPD orbit and into the world of college athletics when a shocking campus murder sends ripples through a powerhouse basketball program. After a heated confrontation between an athletic director and the 22-year-old girlfriend of the team’s head coach (played by Lana Condor), Elsbeth finds herself tracking motive, ego, and hidden relationships across locker rooms, arenas, and academic hallways.
As always, her unconventional insight and offbeat intuition prove invaluable as she works alongside the 11th Precinct and Captain C.W. Wagner to unravel the truth behind the high-profile killing.
Now in its third season, the critically acclaimed drama stars Emmy Award winner Carrie Preston as Elsbeth Tascioni, the brilliant, eccentric consent-decree attorney who helps the NYPD outmaneuver New York’s most elite criminals. The series continues to draw from the world of The Good Wife and The Good Fight, while forging its own fresh, playful, yet emotionally grounded identity.
The cast includes Carrie Preston and Wendell Pierce, with the series executive produced by Robert King, Michelle King, Jonathan Tolins, Liz Glotzer, Erica Shelton Kodish, Bryan Goluboff, and Gail Barringer. Tolins serves as showrunner. The series is produced by CBS Studios.
