Fran Drescher Gets Real About Romance: “Yes, I Have a Rotation”

Romance, as Fran Drescher puts it, is apparently all about letting go.

The 67-year-old “The Nanny” actress spoke candidly to Page Six about her personal life while attending a recent screening of “The Friend.” She shared that she maintains an unofficial roster of sex partners.

“I do rotate a little bit,” she told the outlet. According to Page Six, their on-site interviewer “gasped” when she used the word “rotate,” causing Drescher to laugh.

“I’m Fran Drescher,” the SAG-AFTRA president reportedly responded. “What do you think?!”

Drescher explained that her “very close” relationship with her ex-husband, Peter Marc Jacobson, meant she couldn’t give anyone else anything casual.

Jacobson was an executive producer on “The Nanny.” The couple was previously married from 1978 to 1999. Jacobson came out as gay after their divorce.

In a 2022 interview with E! News, she talked about dating after divorce, describing herself as “like an animal let out of the zoo.”

She didn’t hold back when sharing the emotional highs and lows of dating.

“I’ve dated guys where we’ve argued about how to raise this imaginary child that we’re never going to have because obviously we’re completely different people and have different parenting styles,” Drescher recalled.

She also talked about online dating and how not all swipes are right.

“I tried an app once and none of the guys seemed honest about how they presented themselves,” she said. “They’re not as successful as their profiles suggest, some of them smoke.”

Drescher told Page Six that while she likes to keep her dating life light, she’s faced more serious challenges. For one, the Broadway musical “The Nanny” is on hold. She’s also still reeling from the fallout from the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, the devastating Palisades fire that hit in January, and more.

“We’re going to revive (the musical), but between the (actors’) strike, my dad passing away, and now the Palisades fire, which affected my house… there’s only so much I can do,” she said, noting that creating work requires “being in the right mental state.”

For her, staying grounded means leaning on friends she can trust.

“I don’t try to hide it,” she says. “I’m very gentle with myself. I share what I’m going through and I keep it very small with people I feel very safe with, and over time it gets better.”
