Fran Drescher approves of Sabrina Carpenter’s The Nanny-inspired look!
At the 2025 SAG Awards on Sunday, Feb. 23, the actress and SAG-AFTRA actors’ union president told Netflix red carpet host Nicky Campbell that she was “flattered” by the singer’s homage.
“I’m very honored and flattered and I’m a fan of hers,” Drescher, 67, told Campbell in a video shared to TikTok.
“It says a lot about her,” she continued. “I think she’s totally cool and is very retro in many ways and the fact that she’s picked up on The Nanny and The Nanny style is kudos to her and I’m extremely flattered.”
On Tuesday, Dec. 10, Carpenter, 25, was spotted in New York City wearing a leopard-print outfit that closely resembled one worn by Drescher as her character Fran Fine on The Nanny. The Grammy winner stepped out in a black minidress with leopard-print collar and a matching beret. She accessorized with a small box handbag with gold hardware and sky-high black pumps.
The look was a near-perfect recreation of Drescher’s outfit from the pilot episode of The Nanny. The show, which ran from 1993 to 1999, starred Drescher as a makeup saleswoman who is hired as a nanny for a widowed Broadway producer’s three children.
As Campbell noted while chatting with Drescher, Fran Fine’s over-the-top style influenced fashion trends for years to come.

At the 2025 SAG Awards, Drescher opted for something more subtle but still true to her fashion icon status. The actress rocked a satiny baby pink suit with a low-cut double-breasted blazer and wide-leg pants. She previously wore the same ensemble at the 2022 Directors Guild of America Awards.
Coordinating with the tones of her outfit, Drescher wore peachy lipstick and blush, as well as a pair of nude heels. She also added some sparkle with a pair of eye-catching rectangle pendant earrings.
Her hair was done up in a “timeless, polished look that feels effortlessly glamorous,” as described by her hairstylist Jon Lieckfelt in a press release. The stylist blended in pre-curled Sitting Pretty Halo extensions to add volume to Drescher’s natural locks.
