From Stern to Silly: Dean Archer’s Wild Acid Encounter Cut From Chicago Med

Who says Chicago Med isn’t fun? Who says Steven Weber’s Doctor Dean Archer isn’t fun? Well, whoever says that probably didn’t see yesterday’s Chicago Med, as Dr. Archer first treated a patient on acid, and then ended up under the influence himself after being gifted a sticker that made him high.

In a way, that doesn’t feel like a gift. But for Dean Archer, maybe it is. He is, after all, notoriously bad at relaxing. And in this episode, he was very, very mellow. In fact, he was even the one who convinced the hospital inspector to give Gaffney a good score! Archer. Of all people. Winning someone over with his bedside manner. Who would have thought?

Is Steven Weber's Dr. Archer Leaving Gaffney on Chicago Med?

The hour also gave Weber a chance to flex his comedic chops, and honestly… we kinda want more. And if he also got to be heartfelt in a conversation with Hannah Asher that feels like it might be leading somewhere, well… we’ll take that side of Archer too.

Big words for someone who didn’t much like Archer when he was introduced, I know. But we all grow and change, characters and viewers.

So here is the deleted scene featuring Archer and the most fun patient he’s had in a while. Enjoy! And if for some reason you’re not caught up on Chicago Med, trust us, you want to be.
