‘Fuller House’ Cast Seemingly Shows Support for Lori Loughlin: ‘Family Sticks Together’
Through the good and the bad. The Fuller House cast reunited onstage at the 2019 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday, March 23, where they seemingly showed their solidarity for costar Lori Loughlin amid her college admissions cheating scandal. Candace Cameron-Bure, Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber joined the rest of their cast members onstage to accept their award for Favorite Funny TV Show, and they shared a message of support.
“You’ve been laughing alongside our family for four seasons. And this family has a lot of heart,” Andrea, 42, said. Candace added, “And where there’s a lot of heart, there’s a lot of love. And a loving family sticks together no matter what. They stick together through the hard times, they support each other, they encourage one another, they pray for each other, and they stand by their side, no matter how tough it gets. And a loving family that sticks together also celebrates the really good times together.
Lori, 54, who reprised her role as Aunt Becky in the Netflix reboot of Full House, did not attend the awards ceremony amid her legal issues. The actress, along with dozens of others, was indicted on March 12 for their alleged participation in a nationwide college admissions cheating scam. Lori and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, allegedly “agreed to pay bribes totaling 500,000 in exchange for having their two daughters [20-year-old daughter Isabella and 19-year-old daughter Olivia] designated as recruits to the USC crew team — despite the fact that they did not participate in crew — thereby facilitating their admission to USC.”
She was arrested on March 13, and appeared in court before a judge that same day, after which she was released from jail on $1 million bond. She is due back in court on April 3, according to Us Weekly.
In the aftermath of the scandal, Lori was let go from the Hallmark Channel’s parent company, Crown Media Family. It also seems like Lori’s future on Fuller House is up in the air — sources previously revealed to TVLine that she may not be returning for the show’s fifth and final season.
