Fuller House: Everything We Know About Season 2

Netflix’s Fuller House is coming back for season two next week, and we’re highly anticipating the Tanner family’s return. Since last season was packed with nostalgia and hidden references to the original show, we can’t wait to see what the writers will come up with this time! Not only do we have a handful of details about the upcoming season, but Candace Cameron-Bure, who plays D.J. Tanner, recently filled POPSUGAR in on what’s to come. Keep scrolling for everything we know so far!

The Kids Will Get More Screen Time
Based on the official announcement from the show’s Twitter account, Candace Cameron-Bure, Jodie Sweetin, and Andrea Barber will be back as D.J., Stephanie, and Kimmy, as will D.J. and Kimmy’s kids. Cameron-Bure also revealed that the rest of the original cast from Full House will be making a few cameos in season two.
TV Line reports that two characters from DJ’s younger years are slated to return in season two: Nelson Burkhard (DJ’s wealthy ex-boyfriend) and Kathy Santoni (a snooty frenemy from DJ’s high school). DJ will encounter these blasts from her past at a high school reunion, where Nelson will still be obnoxious and full of himself as always and a now-pregnant Kathy will continue to hit DJ with a whole bunch of snide comments. The characters were originally played by Jason Marsden and Anne Marie McEvoy, but since Marsden wasn’t interested in being on the reboot, Hal Sparks has been cast in his role. Netflix is also recasting Kathy Santoni, but we don’t know who will be taking over the part.

Steve Has a Girlfriend . . . Who Looks Like D.J.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen declined to appear in the first season, and it doesn’t seem like they’ll change their minds anytime soon. While John Stamos said the two are still “totally welcome” to join, Jodie Sweetin wasn’t as hopeful about their return. “We’ve tried everything,” she told ET. “I think we’ve kinda given up.”
Cameron-Bure also revealed that there will be a lot more cameos this season. “Just because season one did so incredibly well, there are a lot of people that are really excited to be a part of this show,” she explained. Alan Thicke, who actually costarred with the actress’s brother Kirk Cameron in Growing Pains, has already been confirmed as a guest-star.

D.J.'s Former Flame May Return

It looks like Barber and Cameron-Bure finally got their wish. After the two campaigned for the ’90s boy band to make a cameo, the show confirmed the good news on Twitter with a cute picture of the leading ladies rocking NKOTB gear.
The season finale may have left D.J. torn between Steve (Scott Weinger) and Matt (John Brotherton), but she might have another man vying for her attention next season. David Lipper, who played D.J.’s boyfriend Viper on Full House in the ’90s, told Yahoo TV that production has already contacted him about returning!

Candace Cameron Bure revealed to E! News that both of her former love interests will have new girlfriends. While Matt is reportedly with a “hot yoga instructor,” Steve will be dating a D.J. clone named C.J.
