More than a year has passed since the last episodes of the fifth and final season of Fuller House came out on Netflix. Luckily, fans of the Full House spinoff caught a glimpse of their favorite cast members reuniting in real life, courtesy of Candace Cameron Bure.
Over the weekend, the actress, best known for portraying D.J. Tanner, posted a series of heartwarming photos on Instagram featuring a few of her Fuller House costars: Michael Campion (Jackson Fuller), Elias Harger (Max Fuller), Juan Pablo Di Pace (Fernando), Soni Bringas (Ramona Gibbler) and John Brotherton (Matt Harmon). It’s unclear if this is the first time the Fuller House crew has seen each other amid the coronavirus pandemic, but it’s possible given that season 5 wrapped up production in November 2019.
“I got to see my Fuller House family today and it made my heart SO HAPPY!!!” she wrote on Instagram. “I love you all and miss you SO much ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜.”
Right on cue, fans of Candace and Fuller House flooded the Instagram comments section with sweet messages about the reunion. “LOVE THIS!!! ♥️♥️😭😭,” one fan said. “MISS YOU GUYS EVERYDAY ❤️😭,” a follower commented.
Unsurprisingly, seeing the Fuller House cast together sparked a glimmer of hope (and suspicion!) that they were getting together for a potential new Tanner-Fuller project. “Tell me you guys are recording a Fuller House special 😍😍😍 it shouldn’t be over! We love watching it as a family,” a person wrote. “I will take any and all Fuller House spin-offs, please and thank you. 😍🏘,” another fan said. “Fuller House!!!! I need a new season please!!!! 😫😫😫,” someone else added.
As it turns out, the Fuller House cast reunited in honor of the show’s creator Jeff Franklin. According to the group’s different Instagram posts, Jeff is moving from New York to Miami, and he threw one last celebration in the Big Apple.
That said, it doesn’t hurt to keep our fingers crossed for a spinoff of some kind in the future. After all, we know from our chat with Candace last year that she continues to stay close with costars Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber.
“The three of us video chat. I talk to them every day. We Marco Polo. We love Marco Polo,” she previously told Good Housekeeping. “And in the big group texts, there are different groups, I talk with John [Stamos], Bob [Saget], and Dave [Coulier] too.”
In the same interview, Candace also proudly declared: “If I am forever known as D.J. Tanner and everyone’s big sister, I will be thrilled and happy.”
