Game of Thrones: Dramatic preview of the final season
The Game of Thrones prequel series is currently in the works as the producers add to its cast.
The show already boasts an impressive array of actors including the likes of Naomi Watts.
However, one thing that’s not so certain is what the Game of Thrones spin-off show will entail.
That said, its creator George RR Martin has revealed that the Targaryens won’t be in the series.
“Westeros is a very different place. There’s no King’s Landing. There’s no Iron Throne.
The author then dropped the bombshell that there will be no Targaryens in the show.
“There are no Targaryens — Valyria has hardly begun to rise yet with its dragons and the great empire that it built.
“We’re dealing with a different and older world, and hopefully that will be part of the fun of the series.”
The author also revealed the show wouldn’t be based on his book Fire and Blood.
The spin-off show is tentatively called The Long Night, and will tell the story of what happened in Westeros before the events of Game of Thrones.
The new show will be written by Jane Goodman (Kickass, Stardust and Kingsman: The Secret Service).
She’ll also act as the showrunner on the series with Martin as the creator.
Former Poldark star, Josh Whitehouse has been cast in the show as the male lead.
Game of Thrones is set to finish in 2019 with season eight.
Season eight is said to feature a huge battle sequence which will put the Battle of the Bastards to shame.
Actor Peter Dinklage, who plays Tyrion Lannister in the series, told Entertainment Weekly: “It’s brutal. It makes Battle of the Bastards look like a theme park.”

This scene will apparently involve multiple characters playing out their final storylines with the battle against the White Walkers as a backdrop.
“We’ve been building toward this since the very beginning, it’s the living against the dead, and you can’t do that in a 12-minute sequence,” added co-creator David Benioff.
