This week’s lineup of General Hospital episodes is suddenly looking a little different thanks to Major League Baseball postseason play. GH Executive Director Nathan Varni recently gave a heads-up on X, formerly Twitter, that GH will be preempted this week, on Tuesday, September 30, and Wednesday, October 1. And now it has become clear that the show will no longer air on Thursday, October 2. Look for the next new episode of GH to air on Friday, October
Postseason Baseball Causes a Shuffle
Varni reposted GH’s weekly video preview and added an important message of his own. “Due to MLB daytime games this week, new episodes of #gh will air Monday, Thursday & Friday. Thursday is tentative based on Wed’s game results. Sorry for the interruptions, have a great week!”
What will be airing on Tuesday and Wednesday are the Wild Card series games for teams hoping to make it into the playoffs. On Tuesday, ABC is set to air Game 1 of the Wild Card Matchup between the National League teams, the Chicago Cubs and the San Diego Padres. Both teams will face off again in Game 2 on Wednesday.
Since the Cubs won Game 1 and the Padres took Game 2 of the series, there is a very real need for a tiebreaker. So, Game 3 will take place on Thursday on ABC, and the team that wins will advance to the playoffs.
Next on General Hospital
General Hospital spoilers for Friday, Oct. 2, 2025, reveal Carly getting interrogated while Elizabeth confronts Britt. Plus, Ava has great timing.
Since teasers suggest Carly (Laura Wright) is interrogated, is it Carly’s turn for a questioning courtesy of the Port Charles Police Department? She did threaten Drew Cain’s life, after all. And her biggest motive would be that she shot Drew (Cameron Mathison) to protect her son.
Maybe this isn’t about her. Maybe if she suddenly finds herself in front of the PCPD, this questioning is solely about the whereabouts of her son at the time of the shooting and not about her gunning down Drew at all. Michael (Rory Gibson) is who Drew is hoping the police nail for the shooting. He also happens to be high up on the PCPD’s person of interest list.
In other news, Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) has been icy towards Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) ever since the former GH Chief of Staff returned from the dead. The two weren’t remotely close before, but before Britt “died,” they were certainly more civil. But now the gloves are off. Look for Elizabeth to confront Britt.
Why does Elizabeth even feel the need to confront GH’s newest employee? She might think she’s protecting Jason (Steve Burton) because the Britch has a tendency to create havoc in people’s lives. Just ask Lulu (Alexa Havins), Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), and Rocco/Not!Ben (Finn Carr).
Elsewhere In Port Charles
Ava to the Rescue?
Meanwhile, Ava (Maura West) has great timing. Does this mean someone (not named Trina [Tabyana Ali] or Nina [Cynthia Watros]) is actually happy to see Ava? This could be about saving Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn), who finds herself in danger from Ric (Rick Hearst) this week.
Make a Vow
Elsewhere, Tracy (Jane Elliot) makes a vow. She has pretty much dubbed herself the protector of the Quartermaines. So, if anyone comes after them or goes after Monica’s house, or she sees anyone coming for them, then they will have to deal with Tracy.
So, when she does make this vow, is this about Michael (Rory Gibson), since she can spot him at Drew’s (Cameron Mathison) the night of the shooting? Or maybe this involves the newest character in town. The one Tracy confronts at the Quartermaine Crypt. Who knows. That woman could pose a threat to the Qs, in which case, Tracy will deal with her properly.
Sonny (Maurice Benard) has been busy trying to be there for his kids, like Michael, who may be in serious trouble thanks to Drew. But he’s also dealing with protecting his own interests since half of Port Charles has it out for him and is trying to reduce the healthy influence he has on this town. They want to take his waterfront property away from him and run him out of town.
However, Sonny is about to make a new connection. In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, One Life to Live Alum Erika Slezak, who just joined GH in a short-term role, will share scenes with Maurice Benard, who happens to be a favorite of her GH-watching husband, Brian Davies. “I called home the second day I worked with Maurice, and I said, ‘Brian, he’s a really nice man. Very calm, very gentle. He’s not Sonny at all.’”
So does Sonny meet the alleged Veronica Bard? It appears so, according to the episode’s promo that aired earlier this week. I fact, Slezak’s character tells Sonny, “I am not about to be scared off by Tracy Quartermaine.”
