General Hospital Spoilers: Is Michael Corinthos Returning Just in Time for the Nurses’ Ball?

‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers suggest that the stage is set for Michael Corinthos (last played by Chad Duell) to return. While it hasn’t been officially announced, several clues signify Michael is coming back to the canvas sooner rather than later.

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Carly Is Currently Fighting Michael’s Battle

Despite the door being left open for Duell’s eventual return, we have a feeling the writers may decide to take another direction with the character.

Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) and Willow Corinthos’s (Katelyn MacMullen) epic showdown was one of the most significant predictors that Michael was on his way.

We know animosity creates very soapy storytelling.  Michael and Willow’s divorce and impending custody battle are ramping up, Carly has vowed to take Willow’s kids away from her, and promised she’d never see them again.

Michael certainly wouldn’t want his children, Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) and Amelia Corinthos (Sequia and Serenity Mork Macko), to live with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), the uncle who slept with his wife.

That didn’t stop Willow from moving into Drew’s new home, the house he purchased with Willow in mind, as he continues to have control over Willow as if she were trapped in a one-woman cult.

Willow hasn’t been making the best choices recently, which Carly has recognized. For the most part, Michael’s mother has been patiently biding her time. She has been waiting for Willow to see the truth about who Drew really is.

However, it was Carly who got a wake-up call the day she went to warn Willow not to move the kids in with Drew and told her it wouldn’t be fair to Michael.

Carly can now see who Willow really is and that there is no talking any sense into her since she refuses to put her children first.

‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Huge Michael Recast Hints

Another huge hint that Michael is on his way back is that Robert Adamson filled in for Duell a few times. He filled in when Duell wasn’t able to film. He wrote a message in a since-deleted social media post that demonstrated his disappointment and irritation that he was “grateful” to GH for not inviting him to try out as a permanent recast for Michael.

“Thanks for having me in to read for the recast of Michael,” he said. “Covered the role not once, not twice, but three times without notice or time to physically prepare. But I don’t even get an opportunity to read.”

It’s surprising that Adamson, who played the legacy character Noah Newman on The Young and the Restless, as well-received as Michael, didn’t even get a chance.

We have to wonder if this year’s Nurses Ball is the moment when Michael returns. The Nurses Ball has historically been an event where major shockers are par for the course. What better way to introduce a new Michael than to have him show up at this time-honored Port Charles occasion?

We can imagine Michael returning with a darker edge, considering all he’s endured. Drew and Willow need to be ready because they are in for the fight of their lives.
