Despite existing in the same The Big Bang Theory continuity, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage doesn’t have many ties to the nerd-centric sitcom. This is what makes it more interesting than Young Sheldon, which ended because of the established canon. That said, 1 thing that Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage needs to absolutely adhere to is the confirmed divorce between Baby Cece’s parents. In light of that, the reason for their split has become the comedy’s main mystery.
Why Audrey Is Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’s Villain
From the moment she was introduced in Young Sheldon, Audrey has clearly become an antagonistic presence in Georgie and Mandy’s relationship. While Jim has been more welcoming of their unexpected pregnancy, his wife has not tried to hide his disdain from Baby Cece’s dad, mostly blaming him for supposedly derailing her daughter’s future.
Audrey’s Newfound Dynamic With Mandy Makes Her More Dangerous To The Couple
The main difference between Audrey’s role in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage season 1 and season 2 is the status of her relationship with her daughter. Mandy’s relationship with her mother has been particularly rocky. Audrey even threw her out when they learned that she got accidentally pregnant. Even after Baby Cece was born, Mandy kept fighting with her mom, to the point that they tried moving out in the Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage premiere.
Over time, however, the duo started slowly repairing their dynamic. Audrey has been particularly supportive of Mandy’s career, to the point that she has been giving her advice that prioritizes it over her marriage. Because Audrey has become more agreeable, not only does Mandy listen to her now, she also actively seeks her opinion occasionally. In Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage season 2, Audrey encourages her daughter to entertain the increased attention going Mandy’s way instead of motivating her to find a compromise with Georgie about their new conflict.
