‘Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’ Season 2 Set Image Teases a Dark Choice on the Horizon

Could Georgie (Montana Jordan) be headed down a dark path in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Season 2? A new set image shared by showrunner Steve Molaro seems to hint so. In the photo shared on Instagram, Jordan is seen posing with his fists clenched, with a black eye, hinting at a possible violent storyline for the character. Georgie is a lot of things, but violent is not one of them, so it’ll be interesting to see what pushes him to this point. Could it be an ungrateful customer in his new business, or could it be a certain ex who is now working with his wife? “Is it real? Makeup? 👁️👊🤷‍♂️ Not everyone can make a black eye look this good,” Molaro captioned the post.

Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Season 2 finds Georgie dealing with even more problems. He just bought a business that could see his family become homeless if he messes up. Meanwhile, his wife is back to work, and there might be some rough edges in their marriage that could be exacerbated by Mandy’s (Emily Osment) ex. “Georgie has always had this drive to succeed, but now there’s a lot of pressure on him. It’s not just his future that he’s risking. It’s also his mother and sister’s house that he’s risking. We like piling as much on Georgie’s shoulders as we can,” executive producer Steve Holland shared after the Season 1 finale.

‘Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’ Is Poised to Encounter More Troubles in Season 2

While the show’s team never clarified what “first marriage” means, viewers now assume Georgie and Mandy will divorce at some point. “That title has always been very intentional to us,” Holland previously said in an interview. “We don’t intend to shy away from the troubles that this marriage is going to have. In the end, there is a deep love there. I don’t think this is ever going to be a bitter, angry, unhappy thing, but this is a relationship that has a lot stacked against it, you know?” he continued, adding:

“Moving into next season, one of the things that seems interesting to us is they both have these big wins in some way — he has his new business and she has this new job — but those wins are also going to complicate their relationship. It’s going to make it more difficult for them to find time to be a couple. Having those real stakes is part of what we like about the show. Going back to multi-cam, but trying to find a version of it that feels grounded and real, is important to us. That title is not just going to be a wink and a nod. It’s going to be a thing that, over the seasons, we are going to own up to.”

Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Season 2 starts on CBS on October 16. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.
