Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage showrunner Steve Holland revealed how Jim’s decision to retire in season 1’s finale might not have been the best one for the character, admitting how “part of the fun with Jim in Season 2 is that he’s not built for retirement” when asked about Jim’s retirement plans.

In drawing comparisons between Holland’s father, who retired later, afraid of what he would do when retired, and Jim’s unexpectedly new situation in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage season 2, Holland offered a blueprint for what Jim’s struggle could be once First Marriage returns.
