Kinney’s real-life partner, Ashley Cruger, appeared in the Season 11 premiere of Chicago Fire in September 2022, but didn’t interact with his character. She was seen raising a glass with firefighters, but doesn’t have any lines in the episode. Taylor Kinney and Lady Gaga were engaged, but split before ever making it down the aisle. They met in 2011 when he played her love interest in her music video for “Yoü and I.”
They got engaged on Valentine’s Day 2015, so their split came as a shock to fans in July 2016.
“Taylor and I have always believed we are soulmates,” Gaga wrote on Instagram at the time of their split. “Just like all couples we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a break. We are both ambitious artists, hoping to work through long-distance and complicated schedules to continue the simple love we have always shared. Please root us on. We’re just like everybody else and we really love each other.”
