Get ready for a festive treat! Ghosts is set to air a Christmas special titled “A Very Arondekar Christmas” on Thursday, December 19, 2024. This one-hour holiday special, playfully dubbed “ghosts-mas” by CBS, features Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) and Sam (Rose McIver) preparing for a visit from Jay’s parents at Woodstone Mansion. With high expectations from his hard-to-please parents, the couple aims for a perfect celebration, but a leaky water heater threatens to spoil the festivities.
Jay’s parents will be portrayed by Sakina Jaffrey as Champa and Bernard White as Mahesh. Jaffrey is known for her roles in Snowpiercer, Billions, House of Cards, and The Equalizer 2, while White has appeared in The Matrix franchise and shows like Silicon Valley and Beef. Additionally, Punam Patel returns as Jay’s sister, Bela.
In other exciting news from the Ghosts panel at New York Comic Con, Rose McIver is making her directorial debut with an upcoming episode of the series, set to air in 2025. While details on the episode remain under wraps, it will be part of the second half of Season 4.
What to Expect in the Christmas Special
This Christmas will be especially challenging for Jay as he navigates family dynamics, including his mother’s resentment towards Sam for Jay’s move away and his father’s hopes for him to pursue engineering instead of running a B&B. Adding to the chaos, Jay has now joined Sam in seeing and hearing the ghosts that inhabit their home.
The NYCC panel also featured cast members Brandon Scott Jones, Sheila Carrasco, and Román Zaragoza, among others. Ghosts airs weekly on CBS on Thursdays, with streaming available on Paramount+.
