Matt Walsh explains why the spirit of Elias won’t be haunting the Woodstone country house in Ghosts season 3 but hints at a potential return. An adaptation of the BBC series of the same name, Ghosts sees couple Sam (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) inherit a run-down country house from the latter’s wealthy relative and grapple with not only the home’s decaying state but the lingering spirits of past residents.
As part of his Ghosts backstory, Elias was the adulterous original owner of the manor that met an unfortunate end in the house’s vault.
As Ghosts season 3 continues to air, Walsh explained to Screen Rant why Elias is absent from the Woodstone House. Due to complications from the 2023 actors’ strike shortening the season and other commitments, Walsh was unable to return during season 3 filming but is eager to return for season 4 due to his fondness for the character.
