Ghosts has always played fast and loose with the rules of the show’s reality, with plotting trumping logic at times. It is hard to see how Flower and Patience got stuck at the bottom of a hole when the ghosts can phase between solid surfaces, but this facilitated a good storyline, so it got a pass. Similarly,
Ghosts seasons 4’s Jay twist promises that Sam’s partner will see ghosts, but it is tough to imagine the show setting this up without another unlikely near-death experience. Thus, Ghosts season 4 can find a similar excuse for its animal ghost.
