A Ghosts star is in the family way: Rose McIver revealed that she’s pregnant at the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday night, where she walked the red carpet while cradling a baby bump.
McIver — whose character Samantha can see the undead on the aforementioned hit CBS comedy — is married to Australian artist George Byrne; they wed in January 2023.
TVLine has reached out to reps for McIver and Ghosts for confirmation. It’s currently not clear if the pregnancy will be incorporated into the show.
Ghosts is experiencing something of a baby boom: McIver’s co-star Sheila Carrasco, who plays hippie Flower, welcomed a daughter in December 2023, the actress announced on Instagram. It’s also unknown if Carrasco’s role will be impacted in the upcoming third season.
“Pretty indescribable. Little Miri is the love of our life,” Carrasco wrote at the time, alongside a photo of herself and her newborn baby girl. “Thank you to all of our family and friends for the epic love and support this week- it means the world to us, we love you!”
Meanwhile, Devan Chandler Long (aka Viking Thorfinn) shared on Instagram around Thanksgiving that he and his wife are expecting a baby.
“wait for it… wait for it……We got a Turkey in the oven!!! Happy Turkey Day from our growing fam to yours,” Long wrote.
Ghosts returns for Season 3 on Thursday, Feb. 15 at 8:30/7:30c. In the season premiere, “Sam, Jay and the remaining ghosts unravel the mystery of which ghost passed into the afterlife,” reads the official synopsis. “Also, Sam and Jay must relocate an owl in order to do construction on the barn to turn it into Jay’s restaurant.”
