Exciting news is coming out of Ghosts! At New York Comic Con 2024, it was announced that Rose McIver will make her television directorial debut, with her episode set to air in 2025. Additionally, Sakina Jaffrey and Bernard White have been cast as Jay’s parents for the upcoming GHOSTSmas special titled “A Very Arondekar Christmas Part 1” and “A Very Arondekar Christmas Part 2.”
The holiday special, airing on December 19, centers around a leaky water heater threatening to derail holiday plans as Sam (McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) prepare to host Jay’s critical father, challenging mother, and sister Bela (Punam Patel). Jaffrey will play Champa, Jay’s devoted mother, who has little patience for Sam, blaming her for Jay’s relocation. Champa also manages the family’s “Core Four” text chain, a group that Sam is eager to join. White will portray Mahesh, Jay’s father, who, while secretly admiring his son’s culinary skills, hopes Jay will pursue a more traditional engineering career instead of focusing on the family’s B&B and restaurant.
