Ghosts Season 3 Image Reveals New Girl Star’s Character

New images from Ghosts season 3 reveal a New Girl star’s upcoming guest appearance in a new episode of the CBS sitcom. The series follows couple Sam and Jay Arondekar, who have inherited a country house filled with ghosts that now serves as the Woodstone Bed and Breakfast. The show is no stranger to having guest appearances, some of whom make for hilarious episodes of the show.

Now, Entertainment Weekly has revealed new images of New Girl star Lamorne Morris’ guest characters in Ghosts season 3. The comedy star will be portraying Saul, a former baseball player and ghost who is attached to a guest at Woodstone, and develops a friendship with Alberta. The episode featuring the actor will air on Thursday, April 11. Get a closer look at Morris’ appearance in the show below.

Morris’ Saul is a baseball player from before a time when Black players were allowed to participate in the MLB. Donned in a Deleware Horseshoe Crabs uniform, the new character’s story will likely involve why he’s connected to the person staying at the Bed and Breakfast. This means deciphering why exactly his spirit is attached to this person, and what it will mean for the story of the episode.

While ghost guest stars like the Puritan ghost George (Chris Eckert) have appeared in the show before, the attachment of a ghost to a person isn’t a commonality in the series. While it’s unlikely Saul’s presence will help Ghosts season 3 address lingering mysteries, such as Hetty’s backstory, he can be used to flesh out the rules for ghosts. It also opens the door for future guest appearances who portray deceased people attached to the living.

Since Ghosts season 4 has already been confirmed, the poltergeist entity Morris portrays could also appear in future episodes of the show depending on the events of his first appearance. He could also cause there to be even more types of ghosts introduced later on, continuing to expand the afterlife rules of the comedy. With his guest appearance just a few weeks away, it remains to be seen what his Saul character means for the future of the show.
