Ghosts Season 4 continues its wild ride in Episode 4, adding depth to the show’s humor and character dynamics. The season introduced Patience, a Puritan ghost played by Mary Holland, trapped underground after Isaac (Brandon Scott Jones) let go of her hand over a century ago. Though Patience returns to the “others” in this episode, her presence in the early season made an impact, including her dramatic reveal in Episode 2 that she can make walls bleed.
Patience’s absence in Episode 4 allows Sam (Rose McIver), Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar), and the Woodstone ghosts to focus on their own dynamics, especially Trevor (Asher Grodman), who finally takes center stage. Here are the nine biggest moments and reveals from Episode 4.
1. Hetty & Sasappis Start a Rumor About Pete Out of Boredom
In the opening, Hetty (Rebecca Wisocky) and Sasappis (Roman Zaragoza), bored and looking for mischief, decide to start a rumor about Pete (Richie Moriarty). Sasappis, waiting on a falling tree branch, highlights the slow pace of ghostly life at Woodstone. Things pick up when Pete returns from Budapest, showing off his newfound ghost power to leave the property. Hetty and Sasappis take advantage of the situation, joking that Pete’s hair snaps on like a Lego piece. When Thor (Devan Chandler Long) joins in, Sasappis quickly improvises, claiming Pete’s girlfriend is made up. It’s classic Woodstone ghost antics at their finest.
2. Trevor’s Secret Job as a Financial Analyst (With a Fake Identity)
Trevor reveals he’s been working remotely as a financial analyst, thanks to a fake identity he bought on the dark web. He confides in Sam and Jay, whom he cheekily calls “mom and dad.” Trevor, who can interact with the material world, uses this ability to do the job, despite being, well, dead. He managed to bypass the in-person interview by fibbing about having ADHD. However, when his boss demands an in-person retreat, Trevor worries he might lose the job that’s given him a sense of purpose.
3. Jay Poses as Trevor at the Woodstone Team-Building Retreat
Determined to keep his job, Trevor persuades his boss to hold the team-building retreat at Woodstone B&B and enlists Jay to act as his alias, Michael Jackson. Initially hesitant, Sam and Jay agree after Trevor promises to share his Christmas bonus. Jay wears an earpiece to relay Trevor’s responses to his coworkers, improvising along the way. This clever, if risky, plan demonstrates Trevor’s resourcefulness and desperation to hold onto a bit of his old life.
These moments highlight the humor, creativity, and camaraderie that make Ghosts so engaging as it continues its fourth season. Episode 4 not only brings the laughs but also deepens the bonds between the Woodstone ghosts and the living residents who share their home.
