Golden Bachelor Contestants Reveal If They’d Take the Spotlight as the Next Golden Bachelorette md18

Mel Owens‘ road to find love on The Golden Bachelor Season 2 is coming to a close, and while we’re all wondering if he’ll choose Peg Munson or Cindy Cullers, we’re also curious about who will be the new Golden Bachelorette lead.

Naturally, with the end of each Bachelor Nation show comes speculation about the next star of The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, The Golden Bachelor, and The Golden Bachelorette, with questions about Bachelor in Paradise, too. ABC hasn’t confirmed a new season of The Golden Bachelorette is happening, but that hasn’t stopped fans from discussing the possibilities of who will follow in Joan Vassos‘ footsteps.

After the Women Tell All taping, Swooon and more outlets spoke with five of Mel’s contestants about whether or not they’d consider being the lead of The Golden Bachelorette Season 2 or even join Bachelor in Paradise. Nicolle Kate Briscoe, Carol Freeman-Branstine, Gerri Flowers, Debbie Siebers, and Cheryl Steele chimed in about their future. Scroll down to see their responses.

The Golden Bachelor, Season 2, Wednesdays, 9/8c, ABC

Nicolle

Nicolle’s run on The Golden Bachelor Season 2 featured some drama-induced hurdles. Nicolle doesn’t have any regrets about what happened on the show, but quickly added, “I don’t have any regrets, except that I haven’t gotten the call yet. I regret not having gotten the call for The Golden Bachelorette. I’m totally open to doing more. I had the best time.”

She noted that she would “consider” a new role within Bachelor Nation, but said that “Bachelor in Paradise might not be the right thing for me, but we’ll see.”

When addressing the possibility of being The Golden Bachelorette lead, Nicolle admitted, “I think my nervous system is actually cut out for it because it’s treacherous at times. But when I get dysregulated, I know how to regulate myself, and I think that’s a skill that I’ve learned over time, so that I don’t spiral and go nuts.”

She stressed that she really wants to “get married” in the future. “I don’t have time to mess around,” she explained. “I need to be very intentional about my dating and about making a selection. I want to have a really healthy, conscious, deep love and relationship to move forward with.”

Cheryl

When asked if she’d consider The Golden Bachelorette or Bachelor in Paradise, Cheryl responded, “Yeah, I think that would be exciting. I think I could handle it, put my big girl boots on, and put the helmet on. Bachelor in Paradise, I gotta think about that. Maybe some more men.”

Since getting sent home from The Golden Bachelor Season 2, Cheryl has not had the chance to date. “I’m looking forward to dating, don’t get me wrong,” she said. “I have a 93-year-old mother, and I’ve been a caretaker for five years. I worked for 10. Finally, the family has come together, and they’re all going to pitch in and everybody’s going to help now because she’s needing more care…. I’m going to have time to date, and I’m excited.”

Carol

When Carol spoke with press after the Women Tell All special, she was still in the middle of baseball season. “Gee, I don’t know. I haven’t even thought about it,” Carol said when asked about The Golden Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise.

She then added, “Actually, you know what I want? I want all of us girls to get back together and have another week together. That’s what I need. But I don’t know. We’ll see. All I know is, I had the best time.”

Gerri

“I would love to do The Golden Bachelorette,” Gerri declared to Swooon and other press. Like Cheryl, Gerri hasn’t been dating since The Golden Bachelor, but she’s ready to get back out there and more than willing to step into the Golden Bachelorette role. “Bachelor Nation’s done all the hard work, so all I’d have to do is pick between 23 men. How fun would that be?” she said.

Debbie

Debbie dished that she would “definitely consider” becoming the next Golden Bachelorette lead. “I mean, how could I possibly pass up an opportunity like that?” she added.

Debbie was part of Mel’s Final 3 and was sent home just before the finale. She pointed out that being The Golden Bachelorette lead would “be an extraordinary opportunity because, listen, I’ve gone to matchmakers, where they do all the work, right? And so at least you know certain things about a person, instead of going in completely blind. And this, I know for a fact they vet you quite a while, and you have to really go through a lot to be considered. So just the whole idea that there would be all these potential men that are vetted that, OK, I’m not meeting these guys randomly, where they’re pretending to be somebody they’re not, you know what I’m saying? They’re being forthright with you. That would be something, wouldn’t it?”
